EDIT: Please use this thread to post speed and latency tests.

===

Can you start recording your speed and latency twice a day (on and off peak hours), everyday, so that we can see how IMEWE will start making things better over time? (assuming it will)

For example: 3PM and 8PM.

Sadly, I am not in Lebanon to take part of this. If you are willing to help out, please start using this topic daily and post (only once, at the end of the day) to share your two results.

To keep things consistant, please use SpeedTest.net for speed and latency testing (who knows, we might go up in the rankings per country!)

Thanks!
Any specific sites you want us to ping or just use the standard bbc.co.uk?
@xazbrat: I updated my post :)
I suppose we stick with speedtest.net to test the speed also. The server should be somewhere in France knowing that it is the last country which IMEWE passes.
The-MMMs, I'm not in Lebanon currently so I'm not sure which server the recommended one is. All that matters is that all the participants test against the same server. Can you please use SpeedTest?
Can anybody tell me which server does SpeedTest recommend? (I believe it should be in Cyprus).
So you want what speedtest recommends, it is Damascus AYA ISP.
speedtest.net is recommending also herd damascus syria AYA ISP (Ogero 256kb/s)

although i think we should use some other server instead.
Speedtest recommends Tel Aviv for me

This is what I get for Tel Aviv:

This is what I get for France(Aubervilliers):
I think as long as each person uses the one recommended for them, it should be able to track trends. I have an Ogero 512 connection and the recommendation for me is either Damascus or Nablus. The trend here is important, not to where you are connected.

256K from VISP.
That sounds like the right speed. 256k UP/ 56k DOWN.
I'll test everyday just before 6PM.
@Samer: I recommend testing the internet quality and bandwidth not only on speedtest, but also pingtest. Because pingtest tests the packet loss which is one of the main metrics in measuring QoS.

Important Note:
Samer Karam wroteBREAKING NEWS: The SWITCH is FLIPPED, but not yet put to use:

There is BGP peering between Ogero (LibanTelecom) and Level3's marseille ip gateway,
but it doesn't seem to be configured properly yet.

Might a temp glitch, but right now there is definetly no traffic going thru it.

So basically the improvements that some users are experiencing are not because of IMEWE, it could be CADMOS.
