Hi, I have a very good free hosting service. But I need to assign a .com domain name to it. I don't have a credit card so I can't buy a domain name online. Any local company in Lebanon that sells domain names that I can pay in cash?
That's the easiest alternative, i second that.samer wroteYou can also get something called the PIC card (prepaid internet card) by Fransabank.
Prepaid card isn't enough to register a domain?rolf wroteYou have to enter credit card + billing address which is registered with the bank. Probably no one will want to have their address put up on something you own.
Not with PIC. You can put any billing address and any name ;)rolf wroteYou have to enter credit card + billing address which is registered with the bank. Probably no one will want to have their address put up on something you own.
Samer, does renewing the domain every year also work with the prepaid Internet card?samer wroteNot with PIC. You can put any billing address and any name ;)
Yep, thats cool, as long as its not my address!samer wroteNot with PIC. You can put any billing address and any name ;)rolf wroteYou have to enter credit card + billing address which is registered with the bank. Probably no one will want to have their address put up on something you own.
Can I also renew the doman with prepaid internet card?hussam wroteSamer, does renewing the domain every year also work with the prepaid Internet card?samer wroteNot with PIC. You can put any billing address and any name ;)
I never tried it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work! (i.e., it should and it will :))hussam wroteCan I also renew the doman with prepaid internet card?hussam wroteSamer, does renewing the domain every year also work with the prepaid Internet card?samer wroteNot with PIC. I'll still need php mail() to be enabled, right?TheIlluminative wrotehttps://www.google.com/a/hussam wroteI have a decently good free hosting. they give me 6GB space and 50GB monthly bandwidth and the speed of the server is really good. The only problem is that mail() is disabled.
Register your domain, so you can use gmail @yourdomain.com. To send E-mails from your site/board.
It's free hosting so I don't have access to php.iniproners wroteyeah, something like that... you need to have a working smtp server... if you do, php mail() will work... sometimes you will have to fiddle with php.ini to make it work(well mostly on windows)
Do they accept moneybookers? moneybookers works for payement, and soon I will be trying it out to get paid through it. Good luck, and I hope one day Paypal will support Lebanon :)proners wrote:

Edit:. They said they can enable php mail() for me if I pay a one time fee of 10$ but they only accept paypal. they won't take credit card payments.
