Guys, i want to get the new google chromecast from bestbuy http://goo.gl/nhmVjn . Please can you advise which would be the best (&cheapest) way to buy & ship it : borderlinx, iship.me ,...
First if i want to sign up for an account on bestbuy, i don't have a U.S phone number to register successfully, secondly will they accept my lebanese credit card?
Techlover wroteAny good idea ???
Don't know about your if they accept your credit card (amazon does,so if they are the same, it should work) and even if it doesn't,you can use Entropay.
Now the shipping, i imagine its a small device, and light device right?
If you use Borderlinx, you will pay 50K500 L.L., should arrive in less than a week-week.
I dont know about others.

I'll probably use iship, and try to use my credit card, if it doesn't work i'll use buy for me service (iship.me),they'll take 5% like entropay i think.
But the problem is which phone number should i put, it has to be a us phone number?

I think iship would be cheaper, the shipping fees are 6.5$ for <1/2 kilo.
Am i right?
I have read many terrible reviews and unprofessionalism about iship, there are Many threads about it, you can search them.
So they might say like that, but in the end, when the items arrives they will say something else, and add to the price for you.
I suggest you search the site for iship.me topics and ask the people who used their service.
I have used borderlinx, and even though it's a bit expensive for light items, it's still reliable all the way to your door step.
Stay away from iShip... biggest scammers in the market. Don't trust their prices, they'll rip you off. So far, I'm happy with Shop and ship, they are fair.

Thanks for your help

Shipping from the USA using USPS takes 2 weeks usually and LibanPost deliver the items to my house.
Only had to pay customs on a package shipped with USPS worth 160$, customs were 40$ and I order ALOT. (Just got 7 packages these past 2 weeks and I paid nothing and I ordered many stuff before)
I have one item that I should receive using UPS (not USPS) next week worth 150$, I will share more info about the amount I will have to pay when I get it

Are you using any forwarding shipping companies or just shipping straight from US to Lebanon?

For the item that you had to pay customs, did they specify why you had to pay? Was it something special or they just decided to charge you because of it's supposed value of $160?

Directly from the US.
I got a card from LibanPost saying 62000LL so I called them. They gave me a really detailed bill. From what I understood, I even had to pay because my item stayed 10 days before it was cleared at customs.
Well, this item was a speaker worth 120$ with 2x20$ rubber case for my other 2 speakers and a 20$ wall charger. They shipped in a small tall box with the speaker on top. Maybe they tought the whole box was a speaker and priced it higher than they should. I have no idea tbh and LibanPost do not know anything.
Yeah customs in Lebanon are a huge brake for imports, if you want to open a tech shop and sell things like PC parts you will end up paying 20 to 25% for the customs apart the pricey delivery like UPS and DHL. so you end up buying all your goods from local suppliers and sell the same products at the same price as anyone, bye bye competition. Another proof that the laws in Lebanon are in favor of these 10% of Lebanese who are millionaires.
For personal stuff wait that someone you know travel abroad and deliver to his hotel whatever you want, you will save +50$ delivery and 20-25%
UPS wants me to pay 69$ for customs on a 150$ package.
And no, not delivery since that was already paid. 69$ for CUSTOMS.

Lebanese customs are not like any others! When they steal they steal till the end ;)
They consider 20-25% of taxes on the product AND the delivery, so if you paid 150$ + xx$ delivery fees, they are taking in your case 25% of 2xx$

It was 5$ delivery so..
I think it has something to do with UPS,FedEx etc since items shipped with USPS and delivered through LibanPost do not usually have customs to pay. (Each 20 shipments, 1 has customs. Atleast for me)
Guys,
i want to get a powerful power bank(qc 2.0 charging ...)from aliexpress on 11/11.
Will it cause me problems with customs? Because i read somewhere there are type of batteries we can't ship to Lebanon.
Had anyone bought a powerbank from abroad ?

4 power banks so far. 2 with solar chargers and 2 with wireless charging all shipped alone. But from the US not Aliexpress. Arrived to lebanon with no hassle and no customs. Libanpost delivered them to my house.
Ok thanks.
By the way, i asked aramex sns support if i can ship a power bank to their china address; they said i can't ship it to Lebanon.
Are the procedures of customs with Libanpost different from those with aramex,dhl,... ?
