DG wrote@Kazouza what kind of error burst are we talking about (FEC, CRC, HEC ? quantity ?) Any particular time of the day when the error burst happens ?

That thing about the SNR when plugging more than one phone is weird indeed.
Uptime: 0 days, 11:55:16
DSL Type: ITU-T G.992.1
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 484 / 2.042
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/GB]: 364,25 / 2,79

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 31,5 / 60,0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 21,0 / 10,1
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / -
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / -
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / -
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 68 / -
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 54 / 188.231
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 23 / 301
HEC Errors (Up/Down): -3 / 301 / 1.656

Today is somewhat better than others, and it's quite random but it happens a lot. Not to mention the loss of framing that happens sometimes.

My Line attenuation used to be at 65 down before this happened. And my SN margin was at a constant 25+ now it fluctuates between 5-16 (I restart the modem until I get a 10+)
That's a big drop in the SNR margin.

Before the problems I rarely got more than 300 to 500 FEC errors per hour and only 5 or 10 CRC/HEC when the electricity switched off and on (from generator to EDL and vice versa). My SNR would fluctuate between 19 and 15.

Two months ago when I started having problems I would sometimes get an average of 6000 FEC errors per hour for a few hours, along with a burst of 300 - 500 CRC/HEC errors. My SNR also started dropping down to 12.5 sometimes.

A few days ago (after it started raining, if that has anything to do with it) I would sometimes have up to 100,000 FEC errors per hour.

One thing I notice is that, although this can happen at anytime of the day, the errors seem to increase during peak time (6:00pm to 8:30pm).

Btw, I have a high line attenuation down 67,0dB, but this has always been the case for the past 5 years and I even with this attenuation I didn't have problems for many years before (as stated at the beginning of the post). It's as if things gradually started to deteriorate after the new plans were announced and implemented a year ago.

Even though our issues seem somewhat similar, I have no idea if they're linked.
concerning the switch from 2mbps to 4mbps... i applied last month and i was supposed to get the new speed on nov 1... is it normal to take more time to switch? i m still on 2mbps..

UPDATE: ok, so i'm on 4mbps now... but everytime the phone rings... the internet goes crazy and i get CRC errors...

Anyone else getting repeatedly disconnected? It's been happening nonstop all day long here. The "internet" light on the router turns red. Very unstable while playing games. (I mostly play Dota)

Also, what does it mean when the green Internet light keeps blinking?
Assuming you mean the 5th light by "Internet" light on the Thomson modems:
- green blinking = authentication successful (data is being transmitted). That is, when you are using the internet.
- green on/steady = authentication successful (no data is being transmitted). That is, when you are connected but not using your internet at all.
- red on/steady = error in authentication (no internet access). If your 4th light (DSL light) is still on and green then it's probably an error with the authentication server (or something else) at the ISP level.
I got a few disconnection yesterday.
Working fine now
@DG

That was my assumption up until it was steady for around 20 minutes during a download. (had my eyes on it because of the disconnections.) Glad to have some confirmation.

Disconnections still happening to the point where I spend more time without Internet access than with it.

Edit:
Also.. What's the default username and password for the Technicolor TG582n router? Trying every usual combination and I can't seem to find it. Installation guide says it's admin for both fields but that doesn't work either.
I've been having this problem for months now. I tried rewiring and using another phone but nothing helped.
Is there any solution to this?
hello

Does the unlimited offer has a fair use policy like other ISPs? I'm constantly seeding and downloading 24/7.
Thank you for your time.
tt400 wroteFrom what I can tell, yes. I have never had my speeds throttled.
you mean to say no
it's been since the change of dsl prices I have this offer and every month I spend >200gb once I hit 350gb and nothing happened there is no fluctuation in ping or down or up speed
I've been on 2mbit/s unlimited since August 2014 and I've never noticed any FUP whatsoever or throttling of speeds throughout the entire day since I got the package.
I would love to know which area/city do you guys & gals live in?
