I have a Thomson ST546 v6 connected to D-LINK DIR-615.
I'm experiencing disconnections every 20 min or so, the fourth light turns off or it freezes on green and stops blinking.

Anyone else having the same problem?

Is it natural for the speed to be absolute shit the first day? I just got the Ogero line today. 2M unlimited and barely getting above 20KB/s.
@ragdoll congratulations Bro.
Hmmm, check your router page, are you sure you're getting 2mbps speed? (512/2046 up/down) .
Thanks man.

Okay, so there are three things I've come across so far:

1- Speed is very unstable. Goes from ~195KB/s to 20KB/s and stays there more often than not
2- I can't get into the configuration for the router, whether by WiFi or ethernet
3- I haven't gone above 200KB at all. I'm pretty sure my line can handle more than that.

The router they gave me is the Technicolor one.

I have a technicolor router from idm .. make sure the address is correct (192.168.1.254), if there is a need to get your username and password from the router (you need to change the router entirely), Mokhtar a member on the forum made an app that can help you the thread's name is "Tool for extracting PPPoE username and password" and that app worked on my router
check the cables inside the building if it s the first time you get adsl... i got 2mbps from the first day of subscription... this isn't normal
ipconfig tells me the gateway address is 192.168.2.1 though that doesn't work either. It's the same as the DNS and DHCP servers though. Is that normal? My older connections didn't have that.

@dav
I'm starting to get close to 230KB/s, but it's still unstable. Could that still be a cable issue? I had Sodetel's ADSL before and it worked like a charm (all things considered).

Update: Okay. So the speed stability seems to have fixed itself. Though there's still the configuration problem and one more thing I noticed:

The phones in the house are given priority over my laptop (the device that uses the connection the most) in a way that when even if two phones are only using WhatsApp or some other IM app, the speed on the laptop drops significantly. Is there some setting for this that I will find if I ever get to the router's config?

I think router with single band go in rotation to each device connected and check for demands.. if you want a better connection get a 5 ghz & 2.4 ghz router dual band and get your laptop a 5ghz adapter .. it will be the sole benefactor of the channel.

Are you using filters on your router and phones ?
We applied to Ogero, it took them around 1 week to come and install everything.
I'm on the unlimited plan, downloaded 10gb the first day and no speed decrease.
Let's see if it stays like that.
NB: I switched from IDM, stay away from these liars.

Third day here. Almost 35GBs.

Speaking of usage, what's the most that you guys have used up in one month? For me it was around 80 gigs with Sodetel (+throttling :/)
I'm with IDM and have a 50gb plan, but i am subscribed to unlimited night. My consumption is usually between 100-150gb.

Me too, around 80gb on IDM.
I got blacklisted I think or something similar atleast rofl. Got FUPed for a month, speed decreased dramatically the other months and internet wasnt usable anymore.
Ahmad Toutounji wroteI used around 320 gb In a month .... nothing happened(ogero)
Was it a 1 time thing or do you usually consume that much?
I consume about 100-150GBs per month normally, never had a single trace of FUP ever.
Had a problem with my DSL back in 2011. Ogero solved it for me after many many months of nagging and getting to highly placed people. After they did, since July 2011, my DSL was great (no disconnections at all, very very few errors).

Last year, after Minister Harb changed plans and speeds started to be increased for several regions/people I started having bursts of errors (CRC, HEC and FEC)... but it was still acceptable.

A few days ago, I started seeing something new: 100,000 FEC errors per hour and some HEC/CRC errors along.
Everything can be fine and, all of a sudden, the connection goes crazy and the errors start increasing like a fuel counter every time I press F5 to refresh my page. Ping and connection stability don't seem to be affected so far but it's clear that the connection is deteriorating over time (I mean more problems surface every year).

Ever since July 2011 I have had a CAT5-e cable installed inside my building (from the electrical room directly to my modem). So I don't think this is the problem.

I contacted Ogero and they said they won't do anything about it (in case it's due to old copper wires) because there's a new network of fiber optic cable along with an active cabinet (much closer to my house than the central office) that are being set in place.

Is anyone experiencing this problem ? A connection can be working fine then suddenly errors start increasing non stop for an hour or two... then it all goes back to normal.

I started having a similar issue around 2 months ago, my SN margin decreased and can fluctuate a lot while my line attenuation also went down a bit (which is weird).

I've also noticed a burst of errors and even disconnections when the electricity cuts off. Not to mention that I can only plug one phone in the entire house, if I plug more than one (even with filters) it just goes nuts with a SN margin of around 5.
@Kazouza what kind of error burst are we talking about (FEC, CRC, HEC ? quantity ?) Any particular time of the day when the error burst happens ?

That thing about the SNR when plugging more than one phone is weird indeed.
