Okay I know what you're thinking, how could it be lost when no one has ever seen it yet?
Well what has been lost is a prototype of the phone, described by apple as "priceless". Apparently an employee from apple went to a bar, had a couple of shots, forgot the prototype there and someone just found it: that is all. Some of you might remember that the same incident happened last year with the iPhone 4. Seems that apple should be more careful on who to give its prototypes to.

That's ridiculous.

If the phone has been lost since July and someone has it, pictures would have been all over the internet by now.
if it happened before it could be some sort of marketing strategy, creating all the hype about the iphone 5 before releasing it.

Well I hope that's the case, apple can't handle flops from now on, since jobs' resignation put it in some sort of awkward position.
Thats the second time the upcoming iPhone gets lost or stolen.

--------> Marketing Strategy or should i say Cheap Marketing ( as Kassem said )

Indeed. Apple users still fall for the same trick.
Apple is strict and such a "priceless" prototype cannot leave an apple building.
Apple is strict and such a "priceless" prototype cannot leave an apple building.
They need to do field testing, that's why they usually let engineers get them out of the building.

But why would this guy take his phone with him to a bar knowing that he will be drunk?
Haven't apple learned of what happened to them last year?
The iPhone5 can check if you are drunk or not. Also, it has a revolutionary charging system, one iFunnle is bundled with each iPhone, you plug the iFunnle into the iPhone and pee into it. System to be called iPee .
lol not again.

Then they should use one of these :

In one end, they connect the iPhone prototype. In the other end, their drunk engineer.

Or simply, they can open bars inside their headquarters. Cause apparently, they'll be using this same marketing strategy for the next decade or so...
apple got many places to test their products, they can carry filed test in their campus it doesnt have to be in a lab just around the campus i am sure their campus is big enough to carry these test instead of taking it into a bar and leave it there so people can find it and use them as a marketing tool
