I think electronic shops in Dora, Bourj Hammoud... like Boujikian
As for replacing it with car batteries, I know big UPS take car batteries but I dont know what UPS you are talking about and if it can be done. I'm ignorant with electrical stuff.

Re: UPS batteries

Indeed, boujikian does stock normal ups batteries "take the battery with you".
In principle as long as the voltage is the same it would work ! but a car battery of high amperage will not be charged properly by the UPS circuit board. to do that properly you need to either isolate the car battery from the UPS while charging it with an appropriate charger, and connect it to the UPS only when you need to use it, or you can get hold of some huge diodes and place them properly between the battery terminals and the ups .

Re: UPS batteries

I get mine from Boujikian; my bro used to work there and I know all the guys. It's a very well stocked electronics store.

Re: UPS batteries

Mostly Dora. In the Industrial area there are plenty of places.

You will need more than 30 hours to charge that type of battery on a small PC UPS, that if it will charge. The standard 13.5->15v batteries need 7 hours to charge at 100%.
Dont recommend you to do this.
