Alfa SMS extension thingy

Hello people,

I had this for a while. It evolved from a perl script (just for fun) to a firefox extension for a University's competition, so I thought to post it here.
It is a frontend for sending SMS thru Alfa's website. I'm not sure if it is useful for some...

When installed, start it from the tools menu.

Oh well, seems people here don't use alfa or aren't interested in such tools.

I cant install it I use Camino, but the idea is pretty cool for lebanese Firefox users. Lots of people send sms through the web. But why doesnt it support MTC too?
Im thinking you can make some publicitary money if you brand it and have it look really nice.

I wonder how you're emulating the POST request. Don't they require a session ID?

Well, I don't have a MTC account/line and I'm not interested to get one :)

I wonder how you're emulating the POST request. Don't they require a session ID?

The got some constant variables on all accounts and a large (very!) specific one for each account, so I parse the html to get the variable and send it.
Anyway, check the code. The xpi file is actually a zip file, just extract it and check the code (*.xul, *.js) in the jar file within.

This tool has just captured my password ?! despite using a correct username and pass, it fails to login. I tried to log the connection traffic and I can see nowhere the script communicating with a remote server. hmm?

I tried other accounts, and everything was fine. Make sure the credentials are correct and recheck the traffic.
If you don't trust it, simply check the source.

Note: and yeah, I am stealing all your passwords and selling them for big bucks in black market...

Correction : if you want the passwords, just ask ! i will tease you about it 

well..bleh...unless you are a serial SMSer.. i don't see why you would need it

Nice extension :) when i am on firefox.. will try it someday

Well. I Just Tried it ;) ... and lot of improvements can be done...

For Example... Can You export the list of contacts from the accounts. or Display the previously Sent Messages..
& an auto login feature will be great ;)

previously messages from the same day ? or you want the whole history ?
now ...the whole history IS saved , but i really wonder why they do not show them to the customers.

and if the Whole history should be saved, it must be protected with a password since many accounts are shared between friends and family members :rolleyes:

an auto complete feature should be available as well when writing the phone nb.

You should worry about your privacy WAY before using a 'computer'..

BTW, I got a dump of the MTCTOUCH DB on one of my old tiny USBs ;)

ok i know im late, but COOL APP!! i know its just like the one on alfa.com.lb but it feels better, juss like the others i have some comments on the interface, as well as an auto login function and number auto memory ;) best regards 2 no regret
