LebGeeks Flyers (and other promotional methods)

I'm planning on mass printing flyers to promote the forums.
I need suggestions on where to stick them and whether you guys are willing to help.
Also, if you have ideas for other promotional methods, don't hesitate to share them.

So far, those contributing to this campaign are : Samer, Mir, Flyingwizard

Format : A5 in Landscape mode.

very nice flyer!

you could take off the "join us now on our discussion forums" if you just simply give out the address like you did, but thats my opinion.

A good place to start is inside the universities since most arising geeks begin there.

If you wait til the fall starts, I can help you promote it in AUB :)

Last thing, you could make the background with faded grey 1's and 0's - more or less like the Matrix thing.. just put a touch to it, white is simple.. so simple

I actually tried this and it wouldn't be quite readable on print (we're not doing those high quality prints!)

I can help you promote it in AUB

Well i know a couple of irc channels where there are more than 10 lebanese in each,and a community or two,that i can get some to join,not quite the idea but to help grow lebgeeks.if thats ok?

U forgot to mention ppl into Hardware and networking
(u mentioned programing , gaming and web developement)
web developement.. doesn't qualify same category as programing
-- even tho i am on the software side... 3am defi3 3an l hardware and networking ppl --

what do u say about using some buzz word, like Hacking ? (white hat )

I loved the "General Geekry" term

with colors it is much better

as for the 1 and 0 it is too much of a cliche

Yeah, well I think they would identify themselves easily in "security" (networking) and technology.

Web development is programming,you can use any programming language you want to do web development,using Common Gateway Interfaces,it shouldn't  be the same rubbish people talking about PHP like it's some sort of god given gift, some of the most used web development languages like PHP or ASP or JSP are not the best for web dev,and unfortunately they are the most used. compared to the speed of Objective Caml,Python,Ruby,C,Common Lisp,Scala or Erlang which runs great on YAWS.
And you can use PHP as a language for other than web apps,for instance PHP and CLI or PHP and GTK or PHP and Cairo.
So programming and web dev should be considered in the same category.

What's so wrong about hardware? Software and Hardware complete each other and should get the respect it's due.

Hacking actually means programming,and coding,the term has been used by people lacking the right computer knowledge to describe sabotage and illegal work.

We can answer with this,and you can add to the Forum rules,no question regarding sabotage or illegal work.

for the web developement... i meant doesn't it qualify as same category as programming ?
so i meant that maybe u eliminate the "redundancy" and maybe put something like computer modding or something more directly related to the hardware or networking side
