Intresting news
at MIX 08 MS announced IE8.0 that will respect the web standards and not claim anymore that they are the ones that set the standards - (referring to ie market share)
Finally something to ease the life of webdevelopers
MS Finnally realized that Developers will be able to spend much less time making a site work in each browser, and can concentrate on delivering a much better experience.
i think one of the most important reasons behind this:
- MS ppl sick of listening to Developers nagging
- What has been happening with the market share
- the complaints Opera filed last December with the EC's antitrust agency, the Competition Commission. At the time, Opera charged that Microsoft hindered interoperability by not following accepted Web standards and abused its dominant position in the operating systems market by tying IE to Windows.
In January, the commission announced it was opening formal investigations into Opera's complaint
browser wars is heating up
your thoughts are welcomed
anyone gave ie 8.0 a beta.. any intresting reviews ?
I'll still use my FireFox
Then again ACID3 got released and all browsers failed =)
Anyway, I'm happy IE8 will support web standards. But devs will have to optimize for ie7 and ie6 because a lot of people with stick w/ them by default on win xp.
