they didn't even know how many switches they have
and they keep blaming it on the software

the most right cable has been "crimped" against all rules cabling standarts if you watch it closely.
1. The top part of the outside plastic cover MUST be inside the RJ-45.
2. Ever heard of covers (also called "manshons") in this part of the world ?
i am sure, i will never recommend the company who did the "network" - they dare to call it a network and call themselves network engineerz
Teo, it is not about this part of the world and Ever heard of covers
ask nuclearcat about the pics in russia , china ....
be fair... some companies have engineering department and everything, but none of these engineers misht have experience in cabling, I agree that these 2 pictures are a total mess, and these cables can be easily organized and they need no specialist, but what would you do if you had a cabinet that's full of cables, connecting around 50 PC together? we have it in the company I work for. at the beginning when we moved to a new office, it was so clean and so organized, but then, and for some reason, we started swapping cables and stuff... and the cabinet started to turn into a mess, but still, the network kept running perfectly. the issue was just with how it looked like! simply, ma 7ada ilo jalad yi23od yrattib shrayit
well they may have excellent engineers , but surly a bad Quality insurance dept
that is y for example i didn't post the name and started flaming and sayin bad shit
well.. after a while .. with lot of cables, there is some level of mess
but i think usually in companies, btu2a3 l khabriyeh 3ala hada who got assigned this task
if he can't re-assign it.. then haram.. akal l darb
but it will be nice if u guys manage to re-arrange it
post a pic ... i completely understand
there are many solutions
- make it into some kind of bet in the company
- everyday clean and re-arrange a part
- or work all of you on it for a whole afternoon (3milo himmeh 3alaya lal khabiryeh) if you are many.. shouldn't take lot of time
- bring someone..even ma khaso bl networking , dfa3oulo 20 000 bl nhar .. shaglou fiyon.. split the cost 1000 3al shakhes

Mir, it was sort of a joke :)
Yes, such mess can be seen everywhere. in Europe as well (in the small towns or "wannabe" companies).
But lets look at the bright side of your life - no one will steal such a switch and cables :)
I had an accident like a month ago, where some idiot (90% sure - a drug addicted person) has sneaked into the basement of
our block and stole the Cisco 2924 switch that feeds the building with network/Internet. The moron, he will sell the switch for
some 30-40EUR on the black market. If it was a Dlink or Repotic, no one would give him even 10 :)
So... it IS some sort of insurance :)
Mir sees first pic and faints away
log in .. check again first pic
shu haida....
the nice thing is that i can see labels on some of the shrayet
blue paper.. white paper
nice converter .. serial to midreh kam no3
mir sees second pic and faints away .. joking
typing thoughts as they come :
- umm.. nice processing power ... and storage offcourse
- i wonder addeh l temprature hunik.. akid the guy using the laptop (on chair) must be freezing
- if he did not freeze.. i wonder about the noise
- how much electricity does this consume.
- are there more in the corridor?
- umm.. fences.. physical security
- i bet i can crash all this with couple of lines of bad arrenged weirdly syntaxed code , such loosers at the hardware side , at least i can consume all the processing power and ask them to do upgrade in order of the software to run correctly
- i wonder about the OS and the way to manage all this
ok.. i am stopping, i have to get back to work
- yes we do have great processing power
- temperature is very low, they usually wear some extra stuff when they're in there.
- lot of noise for sure
- lot of electricity as well! i don't have an exact number
- yes, there more in the corridor, that only a small part
- exactly, they have very high standards to keep the equipments from intruders, u need a permission to get into the building
- waiting for u malicious software
- we use Windows, Unix & Solaris.
7arami, 3endkon vacancy barrat leb? :)
no we actually manage everything remotely from here.
however we have 1 support engineer there.
