Registering a .com.lb

Hello guys,

a friend asked me help  for registering a .com.lb

i checked on the aub website.. i saw the forms i need and everything

and gave the link to my friend

he needs to call them

they put on the website this phone nbre :

Via telephone : 961-1-744 473

he called them.. i called them .. it is a fax

he told me he emailed them .. got no reply so far

so.. guys, anyidea how to get to talk to the guys

Well I've previously emailed the person in charge about .com.lb domain names and he has replied, make sure you email Nabil Bukhalid at nabil@aub.edu.lb, it's kinda confusing with all the papers to get, I think you have to be a registered company in the country to get a domain

Mir, you have to have a registered trademark and not just a registered company!
Registered trademarks cost about 500,000LL per year (I am not sure about that, though).
Anyway, I would recommend to spare the headache and just go with a .com :)

It doesn't cost you anything to actually get the domain name (just the cost of stamps paperwork etc), ya3ni once you register it, its yours no more payments need be made

what mahdoum said is true ! BUT it's a shit load of work to get it.
you need to have a company registered in lebanon and have some papers from the chamber of commerce. and of course own the trade-mark name. and goto AUB, it's much faster the mailing the guys :)

and this is fucking insane, anyone can register a .fr or .co.uk or .whatever but in order to register a prestigious .com.lb I have to go to the AMERICAN university...!!!
we registered a similar domain for the company I work for and the procedure killed us, and yes u should have the name as a trademark.

It took me less than a week to have an active .com.lb domain.

We got the trademark for "internet advertising" purposes in a couple of days, and it took a couple of extra days to activate it.

i will tell my friend
and check if the aub guy replied to him
i will try that phone number again .. hopin i don't get the fax back
or i will look for another phone number on the website , call them and ask about a number for the .com.lb thing

Call AUB at 01/350000 and ask for Nabil Boukhaled. The # posted on the website will always give you a data signal.
