Does it block ads like yandex DNS.
Edit: Doesn't look like it.

Their "explanation" is so confusing!
"It is a DNS resolver - kind of like Google Maps for your computer".
Google map for my computer?
Thanfully I know what DNS is otherwise I would be terribly confused.
Anyway this joins 8.8.8.8 as "DNS options when DHCP does not work or when name resolution acts funny".
It does help with privacy (DNS over TLS), but it's just a half-measure. If you're concerned about privacy use a encrypted tunnel to a trusted endpoint.
Is it better than ogero?
Or we should keep using OGERO DNS.
Ogero would probably get you better speed, but this is a better option than Google's.
I'll stay with OGERO DNS then ;)
I ran namebench today and Ogero's DNS remained the fastest compared to Google and Cloudflare so I am sticking with it. I read though that people in other countries are finding Cloudflare to be faster than Google.
it is faster for now but with more queries it will slow down
sticking with a closer server like Ogero's is faster considering the closest cloudflare dns is probably more than 60 ms away
Ogero DNS server is in Lebanon, so it is going to be your fastest option. I'm assuming that it's a half-decent server.
Cloudflare would be interesting for other aspects.
Tracing route to 1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com [1.1.1.1]
over a maximum of 30 hops:
** 6 hops inside Lebanon, yay! **
7 76 ms 120 ms 71 ms ix-ae-24-0.tcore1.WYN-Marseille.as6453.net [80.231.217.25]
8 120 ms 129 ms 93 ms if-ae-8-1600.tcore1.PYE-Paris.as6453.net [80.231.217.6]
9 85 ms 86 ms 112 ms 80.231.154.14
10 86 ms 80 ms 80 ms 1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com [1.1.1.1]
It goes at least all the way to France (on Ogero DSL), as you can see above.
I'm pinging 1.1.1.1 on my idm connection and am getting 30ms, same as IDM's own dns servers. This means that there is a server located here in Lebanon. Went digging a bit more and found that cloudflare has a server in beirut operating as part of their anycast network.
