Avoiding Windows validation tests

So I want to download windows defender:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta … laylang=en

As you can see, this page says "validation required", and since i dont have a valid windows system (oh no! I'm a "victim" of software piracy!) then I wont be able to download it from here.

What to do?
Easy, I take the filename of the download, here "WindowsDefender.msi" and google it....

http://www.google.com/search?client=fir … gle+Search

And like that I found alternative ways to download it :) including.... a direct link to the file from microsoft :O

To see the direct link, google the following:
WindowsDefender.msi site:download.microsoft.com

The above method works for most, but not all microsoft downloads, actually it seems to work on .msi files but not .exe files; googling the following:
ext:msi site:download.microsoft.com

yields thousands of results, but
ext:exe site:download.microsoft.com

gives nothing. Maybe google doesnt index .exe files?

PS: It turned out that the file that I downloaded tries to validate the system before installing... microsoft 1, me 0 :(
Any ideas on how to go around that?

Re: Avoiding Windows validation tests

I do have one very efficient file and it worked good for now on several XP Pro setups. Although it against my principles as an IS Consultant to promote piracy, but sometimes these things ARE needed. Let me know if you need any help

Sure :) I actually ran again into some problems with the serial that I use, it seems microsoft has recently put it on the list of bad keys... I cannot validate windows media player 11... but that's the only problem that I have :/  if you have any tip i would not say no :) but of course if you feel uncomfortable about it it's okay, i can manage by myself :)

Re: Avoiding Windows validation tests

You need WinRAR to do everything perfect and easy.

1. Extract everything using WinRAR from wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe

2. Install wmp11.exe then restart Windows.

3. Install umdf.exe wmdbexport.exe wmfdist11.exe then restart Windows

4. Now extract everything from wmp11.exe

5. Go to update folder and run update.exe

6. Done!

Re: Avoiding Windows validation tests

Well, you could change your XP key to make it genuine (no need to reinstall windows or format) just launch the key changer and change your SN. Eash SN is working fine. In case one of the SNs is not genuine anymore, just use the last one.

hxxp://www.savefile.com/files/519567 to download.
