What is a geek?

What is a geek? Do all members here see themselves as geeks? Do you?
Is geekiness defined by social status... do the others coin you as geek? Or are you geek by choice?
Is geek a good thing?

I'll stick with wikipedia's definition as it does not involve the social aspect of the person:

A geek is an individual who is fascinated, perhaps obsessively, by obscure or very specific areas of knowledge and imagination, usually electronic or virtual in nature.

well.. some of frnds and family say that i am good with computers..programin and stuff
they ask me whenever they wana do something
but i never heard someone saying the word geek to me
