Is it Only Me ?

Hi,

I have the latest Opera Version
Well, it has been  crushing a lot lately while browsing with 4-5 tabs
it is true that there is the restore session option
but i just wanted to know is it me only having those issue or are those common problems

and my firefox 2.0 is being at the top of the list of the Memory usage with 39,000K and only 2 tabs open
(with every tab the mem usage increase)

I have 10 adons installed, just the basic , crytical ones i can't live without

can i know what is the default memory usage for firefox 2.0 without the extensions

for Firefox:
I currently have 2 tabs open and 1 extension installed, it's using 39,092K
with 5 tabs, it jumps to 49,000K, yakh, it eats too much

for Opera:
sorry, can't help, I still haven't reinstalled it after my last format, I don't use it much.

right now my firefox has 7 open tabs and uses 54 megs.
Firefox has some nasty memory issues, and also sometimes it will get stuck in 99% cpu usage. I suspect opening lots of tabs containing javascript will cause this. But it seems it's happening less often now that i am using the most up-to-date version.

Still despite these problems I cant get to go back to IE.

About the extention... 10 critical extensions??? what the hell? what do u use them for! I have er... let me see... i have about 8 but i only use one... flashgot... the rest are nice but i dont use them anymore, i could disable them.

my Opera takes  15000 with 3 open tabs

looks like the number of extensions does not have to do anything with the memory usage

any tips , tricks , tweaks to do

i keep firefox and the extensions updated
mouse gesture
tab mix plus
flashgot
faster fox
stumble upon
google toolbar
download status bar
...

i am asking first in the forums to see if it is the extensions
so i start removing them. but looks like not.. waiting for more feedback

I've got Opera 9.02 (not sure its the latest, I think there might be one) and yes I'm having the same problems. It crashes randomly and the error console keeps popping up even though I told it not to. Just hope they fix these issues in the next version.

latest firefox (on linux) currently using 56.9MB with 14 tabs open in 3 windows and 1 download running.
4 extensions installed

well.. i just update Opera to the latest version .. it is 9.10 i think
it is no more crashing
(i updated 2 days ago.. not one single crash till now )

i also updated firefox 2.0 it is still taking lot of memory usage.. opera is not taking much..bilked

but still i am keeping both and because some sites are not compatible with opera... especially some sites from Google (weird )

i have to update and look for new versions of firefox and opera
but I guess I will do that after new year
