UPS Monitoring/Shutdown Control Software

Hey all.

Anyone knows of a UPS Monitoring/Shutdown Control Software for any kind of UPS? I have a Majellon UPS (Lebanese Manufacturing) here at the office and they sent me some software that connects through R232. The software allows me to monitor the UPS and all and shut it down. But i need it to Shutdown Servers automatically when, let's say, the batteries are running low or smthn.
PowerChute is a good software, but specific for APC UPSes. Other sofware i also found are specific to their UPSes. I found one called PowerWare, that works with a lot of diff. brands of UPSes, but Majellon is not international.

Anyone..?

i can do that for you, it's not pretty hard man.
just use listnere32 to listen and tap into the RS-232 connection by using another port and/or another machine. then do a small soft that when battery is low, shutdown windows.

Re: UPS Monitoring/Shutdown Control Software

Hi,

In Windows XP there is an application that control the actions of a UPS.

Go to control Panel and click on "Power Opitions" icon then click on the last TAB to your right called "UPS".

When "UPS" TAB opens click on the select button under "Details" section and choose the brand of your UPS and then the port where you have connect the serial com to and click ok.

After that the button "configuration" will become clickable. Go in and choose the settings you want for Alarm and critical Alarm and shutdown.
