Help a SuperLazy!

hi :)

when using a USB , sometimes i do safely remove from the taskbar icon
then after a while i remember that i need the usb

usually i do pfft.. cuz sometimes i am not using a wasleh .. i have to reach down to the case , unplug and plug the usb back again

the disaster is when the usb is connected to the back of the case.. that would take me 15 min to take a decision if i should move and do the operation or find an alternative

so , i was wondering how to do that software wise
i tried couple of stuff that didn't work

so maybe this is very stupid, but if u guys can help me do that.. i would be thanksful :)

Re: Help a SuperLazy!

u don't really have to safely remove from the taskbar if you know for sure that no file is being written on the usb.. The only reason there is a safely remove is to prevent u form unplugging the usb while a file is being written. That could result in a corrupt file.. but not much more..

Re: Help a SuperLazy!

standard microsoft troubleshooting procedure.

1- Restart.
If problem solved, praise microsoft and move on, otherwise :
2 - Format and reinstall

Re: Help a SuperLazy!

the thing with usb is not just if u have finished writing on it.
you you have'nt writtent AT ALL on it, just reading, then u can remove it with no worry
but if you have written on it, you should safely remove it, it is done like that to be sure all the data in the buffers have been copied to the usb, coz sometimes it does'nt send them directly, it waits for more data to come and send them together. so you have to force it to write them, a little like sync under laynoux.

euh ! been busy for such a long time !

well yes, tried that, it said that the hardware has been configured for safety removal and i need to unplug and plug again :)

i am no longer using the safely remove option.. i was just wondering how to do that . u know .. geeky stuff

i guess , i was goingl put something that will monitor the process and see what run and what not.. something like that..
bass now i feel much more like dropping the idea
