Hello
If any sysadmin here have experience with linux web and mail servers can help me, here is the situation:
I have my server up and running flawlessly with Apache web server hosting multiple domains using virtual hosts.
Lets say they are: domain1.com domain2.com domain3.net
The real problem is setting the mail server to work with those domains. Like having:
me@domain1.com ufool@domain1.com awesome@domain2.com me@domain3.net
please note that all of these are different and separated email accounts, me@doamin1.com != me@domain3.net (!= means "is not", sorry couldn't help it)
All the guides found till now are on serving one domain only, and the only one i found that relates directly with my objective is really outdated (2005) http://www.howtoforge.com/linux_postfix_virtual_hosting
anyone got some hints here??
Basically I'll be using: apache2, mysql, postfix, Dovecot
MTA configuration is one of the main reason I switched from Linux to Windows hosting:) I use hMailserver now, where everything can be done through a sensible GUI.
Sorry if I'm not helping. Just wanted to say that I feel your pain.
PS: Maybe try looking into Zimbra? It might be easier to configure.

Well I'm doing this for the sake of learning. This is a big challenge for me that I want to beat it.
I'll be checking Zimbra soon thanks for mentioning it, but first me and my family should leave our home asap because bombs are everywhere. RIP tripoli :(
kudos
Stay safe.
Building can be built back, people cannot be brought back from the dead.
Yeah i hope things stay cool.
I checked Zimbra, but I don't think that it is related. Am i wrong here?
Anyway i will keep trying and researching on this. And will update this thread with any achievement.
I checked their website as well and was surprized. They used to offer an open source package. They still do have a "community" option which is accessible from their website. But anyway I just know that Zimbra can be used as a platform for email. I'm not sure about the details.
