Introduction

Worst. Title. Ever.

Anyway, hello everyone.
I don't have a lot of time on my hands at the moment, so I'll introduce myself briefly.

- I'm a 16-year old student living in Beirut.
- I spend a lot of my time programming.
- I also allocate time to moderate a couple of Warcraft III Modding forums. (Specifically HiveWorkshop.com and BlizzardModding.info)
(I hope this doesn't count as advertising. If it does, feel free to edit my post. :v)
- I know C/C++, C# and JavaScript. (I don't use C# much, and since I'm not much of a web-developer, I seldom use JavaScript.)

There's not much more that can be said. Is there?

edit
Actually, here are some more things about me:

- I learned C++ 2 years ago using this book I purchased ("C++: How to Program" by Paul and Harvey Deitel)
- I'm planning on majoring in Math and Computer Science as soon as I'm done with school. (I'm currently in the 11th grade.)

I love the Deitel books.

Re: Introduction

Hello Magtheridon96 it is so heart warming to see young people enthusiastic about programming on their own and self learning. Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to Lebgeeks :)

It looks like we have a lot in common. Are you by any chance interested in game programming?

Re: Introduction

Yes! I've been working on a game library for several months now. It's designed specifically for Side-scrolling games. It's going to take me a lot of time to complete though. :/

Also, thank you for the warm welcome everyone. ^_^

You know, you've once said that our productivity starts to wear off once we reach the 25 years old mark. That has stuck in my head ever since. You ruined my youth, thank you.

No really, you are right. Time is a killer, and given that, it seems like our life is a race against time. We need to do something huge out of our life, but we need to do it fast, before it's too late.

Re: Introduction

Welcome abroad, comrade.

Your prologue is very fine, I might start focusing well on programming from the book you have written about since I don't really know any language yet*.
By the way, we're in the same year.

* Just a bit of HTML (and learning it, so I'm improving in this one for now) and making a script only by copy/paste with some minor modifications.

Hm. Javascript can be used in many things, but it's true that you will usually come in touch with it when you do develop web apps.

No HTML is not really scripting language, it is a markup language. There is a huge difference between these two terminologies.

Wrong again. HTML is a markup language, not a scripting language. HTML merely has a script tag which allows you to write script code (using a scripting language) within the script block.

Re: Introduction

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language, so "markup language" might be more correct than "programming language", regardless of whether it is a programming language at all.
