iphone 4G ~ 299$ in US -- 1000$ in lebanon ?

Yesterday i was checking apple website and i found out that iphone 4 costs between 199$~299$
why the hell in lebanon l 3GS costs minimum a 500$
and by the way the 3GS costs about 99$

Dude, you have to take a plan from the AT&T so they give you the phone at this price. In other words, you have to subscribe to their service. AT&T is a telecom company if you don't know (like Alfa and MTC).
In some cases they give you the phone at this price but it is locked. Once you subscribe with them they unlock it for you. But you can still unlock it yourself ;) But i'm not sure how the subscription procedure is done. You have to ask someone you know there (somewhere abroad where AT&T exists in their country).
