Animated GIFs

Hello Guys,

I want to make an animated GIF, but i want to make it using a tool under ubuntu
usually under windows.. there is image ready.. u can put pic1.. pic2 .. pic3 and make them play and in the end make as GIF

i want to do the same..simple stuff ...  any idea how to do this.. can it be done via Gimp ? anyone ever attempted to do it ?

it is Solved.. pretty straight forward ..byifhama la wa7do..  in gimp ... open many images as layers and just save as gif and choose to "save as animation" as opposed to "flatten image." Click export. Lastly, it is important to make sure "loop forever" is checked if you want a GIF that loops forever. Under frame disposal where unspecified I select "one frame per layer." I check "Use delay entered above for all frames" and "Use disposal entered above for all frames. choose save as animation when prompted if to flatten immage or save as animation..


preview the image using firefox for example not eye of the gnome

GIMP Rocks by the way !

- if any advanced gif animations tutorial found.. plz share.. as sometime may need to do different time between frames and such... -

w since i am replying .. fard mara what is the alterntative to macromedia flash (i am not going that advanced, but out of curiosity)

i used the GetPostNumber instead of GetEnrollDate

btw i have a little theory that says all ppl who like codinghorror also like xkcd

as for pronouncing xkcd.. personally : ix ka ceh DDDDDeh (in my accent i stress the DDeh ... u have to hear all those office jokes i hear about my DDDDeh )
