what is your favorite blogging platform ? and most importantly why ?
what are the key features ? and the main reasons you prefer A over B
i can think of blogger and Wordpress
if you can name the platforms you worked on and name you favorite that would be great
thanks for the feedback.
I'm in love with wordpress.
the administration panel in wordpress is better than blogger (at least for me).
In addition to the fact that there are tons of plugins/themes to use for wordpress while blogger has relatively less cool stuff.
MovableType recently got open-sourced, check it out : www.movabletype.org
Personally, my favorite platform is wordpress for the following reasons :
- 100% customizable with themes
- plugins, tons available for almost everything you might need.
- more secure than most of the other platforms.
- can be even used as a CMS using some hacks/plugins
Although it may not be highly secure by default (but it can be fixed through hacks and plugins).
Search engine visibility (google)
are there any differences / issues you are aware of between blogger/wordpress ?
Wordpress has hidden security feature, if your account gets compromised, the person who compromised your popular blog will endure an extreme challenge to delete all your post (he/she has to click delete for every single post)
You can think of it in another way also :
Wordpress is extremely good at practicing your fingers and testing your mouse quality
All you have to do is import something from blogger and then try delete the content you just imported
( i am looking for a plugin for mass deletion - but i think this has to be a basic feature or am i missing something ?)

Wordpress has hidden security feature, if your account gets compromised, the person who compromised your popular blog will endure an extreme challenge to delete all your post
Usually, it gets compromised via SQL injection or a remote command execution vulnerability. All what the attacker needs is some SQL query to mass delete the posts. But I doubt someone would go through all the trouble only to delete your posts :) (except if it's a worm, then survival and replication is done automatically and autonomously from human interaction).
Search engine visibility (google)
That depends on the template (actually, theme) you use, not quite on the underlying engine because, basically, both generate clean code. The problem could only occur from the user-inserted code, i.e., your theme and the post content.
Samer, were u testing the submit button ? - u triple posted
Deleting Posts:
i should have added </sarcasm> to my previous post
i was pointing that there is no select post and delete for multiple posts in wordpress
sure the person who can compromise an account is aware how to delete everything
but security is not a main concern for me
Search Engine Visibility:
I wanted to see if google would show first results from their own blogging system to give advantage to blogger
or are the google ppl playing it fair?

they're playing it fair, as far as I know.
I did some search on the search engine visibilty.. did some readings and test results
looks like the google ppl are playing it fair
Image handling in wordpress is much much superior than blogger's
after some playing aournd, i am setting wordpress as my favorite blogging platform
as an update .. it seems that god or the wordpress developpers heard my prayers/nagging
the new wordpress that was out i guess couple of days/weeks ago seemed to have the multiple delete thing and other useful features that i can't remember now
so.. it is getting nicer and nicer on wordpress :)
any other updates that you are aware of on the other blogging platforms ?
