Back Up manager

I have 2 Computers
What i want to do , is use some kinda of software(a BackUp Manager) that lets me choose a folder to watch it
when changes are performed.. i want it to keep one updated copy of that folder on the other computer
if that computer is not on .. the job should be scheduled
of course the more extended features .. the better

and if it is something open source and free would be better

any Suggestion anyone ?

The thing is that a have a long list of downloads scheduled on Flashget.. and you guys can save me lot of time by just typing couple of workds

thanks in advance

Re: Back Up manager

I am interested also in doing that. If 2 pcs have windows server running then you dont need to install anything, otherwise there are lots of small shareware (and maybe even freeware) that you can buy to do that.
what you're trying to do is called "folder synchronising"
I'll tell you if i find anything

Re: Back Up manager

i used backer for a while:
http://www.cordes-dev.com/english/overview.html

you can synchronize folders over the network, over local drives, choose conditions, schedule synchronizations, send files over ftp, compress the files, encrypt the files, ...

Re: Back Up manager

i did a quick search on sourceforge, you could check these:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/foldersync/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/syncdir3/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/websynchronizer/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/filereplicator/

i never used them, so if you try them and find them useful, let us know

The 1st one is Java, the next 2 are win32, the last one if for solaris  (wont work on windows)

Thanks, I might use these for backup too.
