regarding ADSL

Guys, there are everybody dreams about megabits. Let's exclude pricing issue, and backbone problem from government.
But for example we have few ADSL customers... and u know, we have many issues with them, not because our bandwidth, not because price... just because Ogero not able to provide good "wires". Even 128 Kbit/s not possible sometimes.

Re: regarding ADSL

Really, what can be done so that they privatize these sectors?

Re: regarding ADSL

Government = Country = people.

People should change first !!!

Then everything rest will change. Lets stay away from such discussions, they will turn 100% into "politics".

Re: regarding ADSL

I dont want to go into politics. I just want to know what I can do as an individual to encourage the privatisation and liberisation of telecom and electricity.
Regardless of stupid politics, experience has shown every the positive effect of privatisation. Right? How was it in your country?

Re: regarding ADSL

The same it was.
Privatisation did not help. Instead of a state-owned PTT to plunder your money, a private-owned PTT is plundering your money.

The breakage of the monopoly, though, helped a lot. In the past, one Mbit (full-duplex, 100% dedicated) of International (we have local high-speed connectivity) costs $4,500.

Now, 1Mbps (the same details) costs 80 EUR (about $110). However if large quantites bought, you can get it for 80 EUR.

God Bless the European Union! They are pushing the stupid government-state institutions to move forward.

Indeed, Lebanon is much better in many other ways in comparison to Bulgaria.

The only main disadvantage is IT. I agree that Inernet, phone calls, VoIP, fiber and etc are much, much, much better here.
But if you could come and see our roads (with 10-15-20cm holes on them)... ...

Re: regarding ADSL

Well you have snow as an excuse for the roads :)
Maybe i'll visit bulgaria, I want to travel to europe in a couple of weeks.

I think if privatisation is well done it should give results. But if privatisations means giving the business to selected companies who have connections, then it's not real competition and it's worse then gouvernement organisations, it's mafia!

So you're bulgarian... i thought you were polish.
Maybe we can discuss that over a beer? :)

polish is the only word whereby if the first is capitalised the pronounciation(sp) of the word changes, polish and Polish ;)

Re: regarding ADSL

Privatisations means exactly what you are afraid of --> "giving the business to selected companies who have connections". It was the same in almost all countries - Bulgaria, Roumania, Ukraine, Serbia and etc. But, once again, God Bless the European Union !!!

Snow is a stupid excuse. Well done roads can survive at least 5 years of snow without any small hole. Btw, one of my other specialisations is road structure and building (along with
dental treatment, well --> it is all about holes. Maybe I should add porn here too. It is as well about holes)   :-D

P.S. I am not drinking alcohol :)
