Zone Alarm and IDM broadband

For some reason if my Zone Alarm is turned on, I can't view any sites but as soon as I shut it off I can view sites normally. I have broadband and I have placed it under a trusted network but I still can't view any webpages. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Re: Zone Alarm and IDM broadband

well I dont really know, but here are some possibilities
-if you have the problem in IE it may be a spyware. Zone alarm blocks the spyware, and if the spyware is blocked it will block ie. Try firefox to see.
-you may have misconfigured zone alarm
-zone alarm maybe blocking your proxies (but I really dont think it's that)

I'm guessing it's this, but I dunno where I went wrong. It's not the IE spyware problem becuase I use opera and it does it in both browsers.

Re: Zone Alarm and IDM broadband

what version of ZA is it?
and is it the free one?

Try this anyway: open program control and see if the generic host process is allowed to go on the net...

PS...enabeling you BB connection in trusted sites is wrong...its your internet connection so it should stay internet on zonealarm
