buying and importing a vehicle from abroad to Lebanon

Has anyone ever bought a car outside of Lebanon and had it shipped here?
what's the procedure?

Re: buying and importing a vehicle from abroad to Lebanon

I bought my car (Mercedes) from the US 4 years ago.
Last month i bought a Mazda from the US and currently waiting its shipment.

I bought both cars from an auction through Copart.

Process:
You can't create a "buyer" Copart account unless you have a car business. Hence you need to talk to a car dealer to buy the car for you using their account.
You search your car of interest on Copart, join its auction on the auction date, and start bidding to buy the car.
If you're the highest bidder you'll get the car. Then you pay Copart fees + shipping fees and ship the car to Lebanon
Around 2 month later, once the car arrives to Lebanon, the car dealer will work with an agency to finish the car's paper work (jemrok....)
You then take the car, fix it and register it.

Thank you for the detailed description.
So as a result, getting a car will take a few months.
Was it smooth and straightforward?

i'll look into it
