What is your user experience using the windows 8.1 GUI and for gaming using a keyboard and mouse.
Hey! Simply if you have a touch screen go to windows 8, if not windows 7
Go Windows 8.1 you may prefer Windows 7 but 8.1 has quicker boot times, some game's also get performance boosts if you're using 8.1. It may take you some time to get used to Windows 8.1 if you're coming from a PC that had Windows 7, Vista or XP

I have an SSD on my PC. Sharing my own experience I found that Win8 and Win8.1 and Win8.1.1 are fairly SLOW on an SSD. That's right with the proper tweaks on a good old fashion Win7 my PC is now blazing fast with absolutely no lag whatsoever.
Win9 will be released very soon so my advice is forget about 8 its shit !
When is the Expected Release of Windows 9 ?.. I guess Windows 8.1 is more future proof compared to windows 7 .. Some analyst are saying that MS will most probably drop the support of Direct X 12 in Windows 7 ..
Expected release of Windows 9 is Q2-Q3 2015.
In January 2014, a well-known Microsoft blogger Paul Thurrott said he believes the company plans to release Windows 9 (codenamed Threshold) in April 2015, less than three years after Windows 8.
For Me i go for windows 7 pro
