Static blog generators (Hyde, Jekyll, Octopress)

I've never been a fan of wordpress/joomla/drupal. I wanted to create a new blog, usually I go for django, If I'm being lazy, I go for mezzanine.

The reasons I didn't go for mezzanine are:

I don't have time to secure my vps.
I don't want to worry about postgres performance on my cheap vps.

I first thought about using hyde, but the developers of hyde wanted to make it like jekyll. so why not using the real jekyll, I ended up going for octopress, the advantages are:

I don't need a database, great relief.
I host it on heroku or github pages for free, now it's on heroku. no need to worry about server side security or performance.

But this is one of the very few times I use ruby on rails, and the very first time I use a static blog generator So is there anything I need to worry about?
