hi,
I am developing arabic app in android and I don't have a 2.2 device but my devices are newer versions and my app targets the 2.2 version and greater versions...
on the emulator the arabic words are being displayed as letters which means separated letters.
Does android 2.2 support arabic and if not will I have to add anything to my app or will the user who downloads my app have to install something to his device so he can get the arabic words correctly and if it's better if I fix it in my app how can I do that?
thanks.
Unfortunately, arabic support has long been crappy on Android. I'm guessing there are things your users can do to improve rendering on their mobiles, but there isn't much you can do.
I've heard of libraries that could help you with this problem, but I've never actually tested them, so I can't say how good they really are.
Also, this SO thread might be relevant.
thanks I've seen that but I wanted a better solution with a library that is not as big as the one mentioned in the answer of this question...
