Multiple questions:
1- Anyone knows what mizalla.com is based on? Is it custom built?
2- Any good open-source or free index or yellow pages script that looks acceptable?
3- Do you suppose anyone still does mirc? You know, random chat with strangers?
4- Do you have any personal .com (or else) websites? Personal, non-commerical.
5- Any local websites you visit daily to check out contents, other than Facebook and email sites?
6- What's a good site that is an online game or puzzle itself?
Thanks upfront. Have a good one!
1- The copyright footnotes of Mizalla show it's powered by Wordpress. However it looks far more complex than your average "out-of-the-box" Wordpress blog, so I'm guessing it's heavily customized.
3- IRC is very popular, although you won't find much "hi asl please". It's much more geared towards support channel and speicfic communities (like #ubuntu or #python on irc.freenode.net)
Also note that mIRC was a client. The protocole name is IRC and there are other (more modern clients). I would strongly recommend irssi.
Wow... wordpress... I expected something like magento.
After reviewing the site a bit, it seems that Wordpress is only mentionned in the blog. I cannot find what they actually did use for the online shop.
I don't know if @sadus is still around, maybe he'd care to share?
EDIT: sadus has already said that it was built in-house.
