That would be awesome, please do :)Kareem wroteActually I have almost finished tweaking the adsl connection.
88ms is the lowest latency on speedtest I could get. I will create a tutorial soon for how to do it assuming you have a reasonable attenuation and SNR.

how good are those results? tbh i have no idea what they mean... but i know low pings allow me to play online DotA and CS Source...
i never saw the need to switch for DSL...
on average my download speed is 45~55Kb/s
my ping for online games reach as low aw 32ms which is more than great.
I have unlimited download and i pay 40 000LL monthly
again how good are those results above? and what ISP offers similar or better ping results in lebanon?
thanks

well a 1mb connection could make u reach 75~90Kb/s, and get better for a 2mb or 4mb connection speed.
concerning online games the latency (ping) depends on the location of the server who is receiving packets from you, so you can never judge
Unlimited download isnt a big problem, since u get 10gb download with most ISPs in lebanon for a 1mb connection
unlimited connection means u are getting a shared connection, its not dedicated, so your ping and your download speed must vary a lot depending on the users who are sharing the same connection with you, which is very bad

So, as an experiment, I decided to see how much hotspot shield hurt my performance--not as bad as I thought.
Test 1--hotspot shield (still goes to the Lyon one for whatever reason)

Test 2--w/o hotspot shield

Anyhow, I have a 1 meg connection from Ogero and this almost allows me to watch stuff from Hulu without much buffering.

Official reply from Mr Sehnaoui when i tweeted him concerning un-upgraded areas to the first 1mbit upgrade:The-MMMs wrotewe share the same misfortune ... still 256kbit yet still downloading 1.45GB files and playing online like a BAAAWSamkahal wroteCome on Kareem :) you have a good connection at your home, i will use your sad face for my 256 K connection :(
If by cabinet he infers the government then i think we might as well just move homes to an area which is actually upgradedIt will be long since no solution but active cabinet and it is what we are working on. But it will take from 6 month to 1 year.
i don't think i need this in my case, because the majority in my town got the upgrade.
what about you ??
what about you ??
The TerraNet QoS has been horrible the past couple of days, while the speed remained acceptable.
I'm on the 4mbit plan:

I usually get around 3~3.5mbit with a 100~200ms latency.

Speedtest doesn't really give an accurate assessment IMO of what is really going on. I have the Ogero 1 mbps plan:

I have sites that don't load which I know are dns related issues. This has been going on for a couple of weeks now. It seems anything on the IMEWE is fine--anything that veers from it has issues.

I'm monitoring the DSL for a long time, and i noticed an improvement with the local latency by 8 ms.
From Bekaa to Beirut (Terranet)
Before: lowest is 42 ms
Now: lowest is 34 ms
by the way, my account was upgraded yesterday to 1 Mbps (Terranet)

same problem im having since the DSL "upgrade". Ridiculously slow speeds at peak hours ( <0.1Mbps).
Ogero tech support completely useless in this manner.
Speedtest at peak-hours: (most time speedtest dnt even load)

Speedtest off peak-hours:

I have 4 months of speedtest Data that i printed and went to ogero with it, sadly no one wanna take responsibility of this and make the effort to help.
One guy from 1515 was yelling at me that its normal before he hang up on me...

Is it only me or the Ogero DSL connection is barely hitting 1mbps on a 4Mbps ?? speedtest.net struggling to load and some random time outs ?
Geee...I've never thought things could be that bad :)

my connection's been stiff and stable for a while now.. even after midnight when unlimited nights began(in theory :P)Kareem wroteIs it only me or the Ogero DSL connection is barely hitting 1mbps on a 4Mbps ?? speedtest.net struggling to load and some random time outs ?

sometimes when I don't turn off the modem for a long time, the speed slows down for some reason, I turn it off then on and speed's back to normal.. try it and see if it stays bad
Same for me.Kareem wroteIs it only me or the Ogero DSL connection is barely hitting 1mbps on a 4Mbps ?? speedtest.net struggling to load and some random time outs ?

I would assume everything effed up, as usual. Before this i had no problems playing online during peak hours. now evenings are horrible, i am barely getting 0.1 mb , and could not log onto any authentication servers for any application.Chup wroteMe too.

TAKE IT BACK IDM! :~(
Same here, never had problems till the "upgrade" happened, and now... 5 months of terrible service, with no solutions and full denial of ogero that the problem even exist. upgrading to 2Mb plan maybe 0.1mbps changes into 0.2mbps.Rubz wroteI would assume everything effed up, as usual.
