DDoS attacks are not meant for "hacking" a website. They simply bring the server down. But when that happen, maybe we can inject something into the server?

I'll port scan to check if there's any Vulnerable service.

Why are you guys discussing stuff such as: DDoS attacks on the goverment(Ogero belongs to the goverment...amIright?) on a public forum ...

you guys can't just discuss hacking on a public post. heck isn't the hacking issue breaching the form's rules?
go ahead and bring their website down; they will find you, and they will press charges. guys you cant just fool around with government property, you are wiser than this.

Exactly
These are an open to public forums
Even though its not widely known in lebanon...ITS STILL PUBLIC..and you risk getting it shutdown and getting press charged.

We're not trying to sabotage their server or cause any harm. We merely want to get our demands through their thick fucked up minds! If hacking the website for a few days is outrageous, then my initial suggestion shouldn't cause any press charges.

Let everyone contribute the way he feels. This thread should be a place to exchange ideas. But if people want to assist each others in doing things that are borderline illegal (like DoS), I suggest they take it to a more private place. Also, this is not a chatroom.

C'mon guys, no need to do this now. May I suggest we... oh say... wait till April to see if any new progress reports come in, after that then we'll decide if we need to motivate anyone with any methods stated above
Besides, The government doesn't have time to take your playing, they got better things to do
............such as tracking down Hateful comments on FaceBook :P
Devaz
I do think that the government needs a reminder of how Vulnerable they are, but tbh i don't wanna see anyone doing some jailtime because of it. So Guess what i'm trying to say is, Don't do it, unless you're sure you're good enough not to get caught

Let's ask our 4chan friends to launch a DDOS attack
Is there a lawyer here? What are the LEBANESE law concerning the internet usage (if any)?
Before saying it's illegal I want to ask if they have any specific text about internet behavior?
I like kassem's mail idea :D
the best solution (:

Then stick to that and go for it! Bombard them with emails and phone calls. Ask your friends to do so as well!
MrClass
bombard them with emails and phone calls? hehe, what you're trying to overload their network? they designed their network to sustain any pressure. it won't crash. go ahead and call, they place you on hold. go send them with emails, they do have an anti-spam server (which can detect the addresses trying to spam). in the end, you'll get your email address blacklisted in their server. give it your best shot. this is an ISP for god sakes, they are prepared for this kind of act. you guys just dont get it, do you?

You called the other members stupid for discussing these things in public. Granted, it might not be the wisest thing to do, but you could be more diplomatic while voicing your opinion about things.
Guys, do not link your hacking / DDoS plans with LebGeeks, please discuss this in private.
MrClass
actually i was sarcastic, and did not mean it. they are simply not aware that logging DOES occur. this whole act is considered a felony. im just warning you all, the government will investigate, and the result is not going to be good for us.

This may be true, but think about it this way: did Anonymous hesitate when they decided to DDoS Multi-Billion dollar companies such as Visa or MasterCard, the official CIA site? or even Ebay just to get a message across? Did Wikileaks hesitate to post highly confidential files to reveal the evil truth to the people of the world? Did the people hesitate to post about protests or plans to overtake their governments.. even risking their own lives in their nations... to enjoy a better quality of life? NO!!!
shall we hesitate to take non-lethal action for a better standard of life? (this meaning our Internet service.. which ranks the slowest in the world!)
remember, we are not thinking about doing this for pleasure or to prove anything.. we are simply exercising our right digitally to protest peacefully to get our demands met, and as we all know.. Actions Speak Louder than Words!!
Now are you going to sit there and wait countless hours just to watch a 5 minute movie, complain about the lag you get in WoW, get mad at a new must-download PS3 firmware upgrade?, or another other online application, thinking about paying lots of money so that you can open more sites, rage over the fact that you can't open that programming guide or review in 1080p? or are you gonna do something for you, for your country, and for Geeks all over the world?
The Choice is yours ;)
Now let's avoid any tough illegal action talk and keep it to simple applicable solution :)
xazbrat
I understand what you are trying to do, but a better (and probably less attainable way) would be to somehow get a reporter (on TV would be better) to ask someone from Ogero why we have the 5th or 6th worst internet service in the world (if war is used as excuse, point out other places where this hasn't been an issue). As a follow up, ask the same representative why we should keep them around in spite of their failure.
If they are going to lie, might as well have it come straight from someone's mouth as opposed to an anonymous press statement. Also, this gets the biggest audience and is legal. I know MTV had news segment about it, but I don't believe anyone from Ogero was interviewed.
MrClass
here you go. a much better way. if MTV interviewed a 14 year old kid for doing a mini facebook for students, they will for sure interview a bunch of geeks hungry for faster internet speeds. simply, ask them!
vengeance666
actually DDoS attacks won't be a problem i guess ( i'm not encouraging anyone ) , i know someone here who works for a certain ISP , and he launched a DDoS attack against another ISP server wich was almost down for 2 days , i don't mind doing it :D that's the very least we can do in return to what they did to us for the past years
andy1123
get that guy to launch a DDOS to ogero demanding better internet...
monkey-d-luffy
So do we spam them or contact our Anonymous friends?
