  • Selling all my stuff: MacBook Pro, iPad, iPhone 4, Canon SLR

Hi everyone!

I've had a great time here in Lebanon but I'm going back to the US next week. Since electronics are so much more expensive here I thought I'd offer to sell all my equipment.

I'm pricing things so you can get almost new equipment at a price below what you can get in the stores, and I will replace my stuff and make a few dollars. I'm trying to be fair with the prices but still make it worth my while. Remember that the prices you see on online don't include tax so I have to factor that in to my replacement cost.

All this stuff is pretty new and in great shape. I take very good care of my stuff. I'm very happy with everything and will likely buy the exact same things when I get back to the states.

Please ask questions here so I can answer for others. If you're interested in buying write me an email at my gmail address that has a username of 'zefmail'

17" MacBook Pro

Just over a year old. Everything is perfect except a small dent shown here:

Specifications:
2.8 GHz
4 GB Ram (1067 MHz DDR3)
7200 RPM 500 GB Hard Drive
Graphics: 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT
1920x1200 pixel display
Awesome battery life

iStyle sells the baseline 17" model for $3,100. I'm asking $2600.

Compare on Apple's webiste.

16 GB WiFi iPad with Apple case
The case shows some wear, but the iPad has almost always been inside the case and is visually and functionally in perfect condition.

I think they are going for >$900 in stores. I'll sell mine with the case for $750.

16 GB iPhone 4
Great shape, shows normal wear. I forgot to include the headphones (with play/pause/volume control) in the picture, but those come with it of course.

I really didn't figure out what these are going for here... make me an offer. I'll need to buy an out-of-contract one in the US.

Magic Mouse
iStyle charges $122. This one is yours for $85 if you're buying something else from me. Did I mention that it's magical? It is.

Canon T1i (aka 500D), lens with image stabilizer.

See link below for product details. Purchased in January. Perfect shape, no scratches, never been dropped — not much to say about it. It's a great camera, really good value for the price.

I saw the camera and lens kit selling at Abed Tahan for $970, which doesn't include the cards, lens cover, or extra battery.

I'm asking $875 for all of it.

Here are links to the products on Amazon.com:
Camera
Memory Cards (2 of these)
Extra battery
Lens UV filter/protector

Sennheiser HD-280 Pro Headphones
As seen here.

While I'm at it I might as well offer my headphones. These are superb headphones and I'll be getting an identical pair immediately if you buy them. I took off the pad on top because I prefer it that way but besides that it's what you see in the stock pics.

Asking $115.

I am leaving Tuesday night, so Monday or Tuesday is good for doing the trade.

Thanks and I hope this is helpful for someone!
hello it makea no sense selling iphone4 from the US as they are currently not unlockable (unless you have it with an old baseband and firmware). Current price for a new factory unlocked 16gb iphone4 is around 850$.
Zef, the IPad price is too high. PC and Parts is selling it brand new for 660 TTC.

How old are these?
Any wear and tear?
Do you still have the pad lying around/can it be reattached?
@vic

I've had the headphones for around 2 years but don't know the exact date I bought them. No real wear, but you can see that the pads around the ears have been compressed. Like I said I'm pretty careful with my stuff so it hasn't been damaged and I don't use them at a super high volume.

The pad is in the US, I wasn't planning on selling these but I thought I'd offer. But, I find them quite comfortable without it.

Here they are:

ipad price is way too high !! i can buy a 16 gb ipad brand new for 580$. ill buy yours for 450$.
your price of 750 is way to high sry.

And about the iphone 4, even thought that i have 1 but i will buy this if it's for a good price. let me know your price.
nah your overpricing i dont see any fair ...
and saying that your going to buy a new one after selling it is not a good plan to sell anything .. just my tip :)
jajoja wrotenah your overpricing i dont see any fair ...

My idea of fair is that the price is in between what I can buy it for in the US with tax, and what you can buy it for here... I've tried to price everything right about in the middle between those 2 but you can make me an offer if you don't think it's fair. I'm not desperate to sell anything, but I was hoping it would be mutually beneficial.

Thanks!
500$ ipad + tax = max 600 $ but the ipad is used - 200$ = 400$ thats called fair ... asking for 750 $ well its :|
my intention is not discouraging anyone to buy your items im just giving you some tips about selling stuff :)

Unlike your typical Lebanese seller, Zef is being transparent about things. I think it is a good thing and promotes good business.
exactly what came to my mind just as i read zef's post. I wish all Lebanese sellers would be this honest and transparent. Unfortunately we have to think more then twice before buying anything

Im not talking about the advantage of zef being honest about whats his intention of selling these items , what i meant was : wheres the logic of selling stuff and saying that after getting my payment (used items overpriced) ill rebuy the same stuff but new isnt that completely like laughing at the buyer ! , what your saying is a different approach of what i was trying to tell zef about ...
man lets stop arguing here , dont wanna screw this , no more off-topic
Zef might not be the typical Lebanese seller but we're not the typical Lebanese buyers either. Most knowledgeable persons will wait for someone to get it for them from the States or somewhere else where it's cheap. Therefore big consumer shops are not really the price reference.
Still I appreciate you being transparent and also giving us the choice to make you an offer. I am interested in the camera. But as I said (and sorry for repeating), the price at Abed Tahan is not relevant, as I'd rather die then buy my stuff from there (at a 50%+ premium). If I decide to go further, I'll send you an email, and try to find a price that will suit us both.
Cheers :-)
Thanks everyone, I'm really not trying to rip people off here. I don't know the market well and I'm just trying to give you guys the option. I really don't need to sell anything.

@rolf definitely make me an offer. It's especially easy for me to replace the camera — no setup needed like with the computer stuff.
Hi Zef,
your items are used, you cannot even compare to market price.

Macbook 17" Pro used + Bent = 1500$ Max.
iPad used = 400$
Magic Mouse = 30$

Your are comparing your used items with the expensive iStyle new Items.
For one, the original price in the US is not that expensive, and secondly your items are used so the price should be between the 70-80% of its original price (and if damaged/scratched = 50%).
ZeRaW wroteyour items are used, you cannot even compare to market price.
Then don't buy them! It doesn't matter to me.

You are free to go buy a Magic Mouse from iStyle for $122 or have a friend get one from the US or somewhere else for $70 + tax. Or you can buy mine for $85. Otherwise I'll just keep using it an being happy with it!

If you can find a high-end 17" MacBook Pro for less, go buy it! I'll just keep using mine.

I figure that you can't, so I'm giving you the option to buy mine. If you can, then please do tell because people are asking.

If you have a friend from outside that can bring you one cheaper, do it! I'm sincerely happy for you!

Anyway, I'll stop trying to defend myself at this point. Just make me an offer or don't, your call.
you are right, you are free to ask for the price you want :)
ill buy the ipad for 450$. and the iphone for 500$.
if the iphone is unlocked and in good condition i'll buy it for 550$!
