  • iPhone 4 Facetime, MMS on Alfa and MTC

@akramk Yes my phone IS factory unlocked and NOT jailbroken. The version of iOS is 4.1 (8B117). To activate Facetime, I just went to Settings->Phone and flipped the Facetime switch on. That's it.

Oh and my MTC is also prepaid.
akramk ..... its very sad .. alfa cares a shit about their customers. I did not get a reply.

As expected, Alfa didn't solve the issue ...
Use tango, it works on both WiFi and 3G and it's multi-platform. Tried it with my Android with a friend on iPhone4, worked quite well.
I already use Tango! It's a good alternative for ALFA users.
Btw my FaceTime says: Settings_Account_Registration_Defualt and the toggle is on and cannot be set off.
Oh and FT isnt activated, ofcourse. What A Shame
I'm basically giving up on this. If only I could convince myself to switch to MTC :P

... And as usual nothing happened with Alfa ... The worst customer service ever ... They simply don't give a damn! ...
Hi guys, it seems that Alfa has finally responded ... FaceTime is activated as of today ... Please try it out and let me know ...

Good news! By the way is Facetime activating on iPhones unlocked using Ultrasnow? I have tried everything on my MTC line and nothing seems to work.
^ Yes. My brother's iPhone is unlocked using ultrasn0w and we facetimed :)
Try resetting network settings, or writing your phone # as +961......
Btw, those on alfa can now get their microsims. I got mine today.

That is weird I have already tried that many times and it's still not working. Anyway thanks for the feedback.
Did not work for me on Alfa. Tried resetting the network settings, and my phone number is already set up as +961 3 xxx xxx.
Samer, try to reboot your phone. (hold power+home button until it restarts) and activate. You should wait around 20 seconds for it to register.

Just called alfa support and they said that facetime is not activated on their network because they do not have an agreement with the service provider.

I was following this thread long time ago thus I sent an email to alfa concerning Facetime, here's the reply
Dear alfa Subscriber,
Thank you for contacting alfa
Please be informed that your suggestion, regarding the GPRS service on alfa prepaid lines, has been forwarded to the concerned persons for their consideration.
As for the “Facetime” application on IPHONE 4, it is still under the testing phase, and currently not supported by alfa network.
Kindly be aware that our technical team is following it up to make it operational at the earliest convenience.
