I buy a game each 1 or 2 months! because for me these things are luxury!
Exactly.

Finally, someone else said it.

Thats TOTALLY bad.
THose guy was amazing and very professional. He did really a lot for other countries... and here....
Without him it is will be unlawful era. TRA was only one organization who was doing their job :-(

I am feeling few "big ducks" will own all market, and will throw whole Lebanon to stone age.
They are risking that people will go to streets... especially because internet used by young people.
honestly i hope paypal will never work in lebanon , because once it does the smart Lebanese will abuse it ( chargebacks, complaints ) and all the sellers will stop selling to lebanon

No, Paypal doesn't support Lebanon because our parliament hasn't approved the Electronic Signature law yet. It's been in the parliament since 1996 by the way. So legally, they cannot do business unless the law gets approved.
Thanks for the info

let me tell you something, the least that an american or an european makes a month is no less than 1000$, I know that in france the least you get for working a month is 1200 euros, so its normal for them to pay 60$ for a game, but what about the lebanese, I for example am a student and also work, what I make is around 300$ a month, so how can I afford a game for 60$ or a new movie that I want to watch....let me make this mathematically:

A=european that makes 1500$
B=me that makes 300$

for A paying 60$ of his 1500$ is an expense of 4% from his salary...
for B paying 60$ of my salary is an expense of 20% from my salary....

so if I buy 5 games/movies/software.... a month I would have spent all my salary....

but for the european buying 5 games/movies/software... is an expanse of 20%....

all I'm saying is the Lebanese cant afford it....
First of all, how come you are comparing an employee wage to a student?!!
Unless the student in the US makes 1000$+ which is not true

^^^ Totally true.
Yeah but in Europe and the US, the state pays a part, if not all your tuition + housing needs.

The government helps, not like in here the gov is only helping itself in a greedy way.

Anyways, why are you judging ? Smoking cigarettes? People are free to smoke or not to.
It is as relevant as saying "Become a vegetarian, that way you can afford your original OS".
Wtf is that?

Anyways same thing with Piracy, Once again i tell you, and understand that the problem is not the end user, the problem is the provider.

And this we can apply it to anything you want. Go buy a pc, from 80% of the shops ur OS is a copy.
Bro we can also apply it to clothes, chinese copies branded here in Lebanon as whatever u want. You want chinese Lacoste? It's happening to food bro (corrupt seeds coming from egypt, corrupt meat)
Rebrand and sell. Copy and sell. Yallaaaa

So Please, for the love of [name your deity here] we don't want corrupt internet.
Provide a good internet and a private Ip, and make those who break the rules bear their responsibilities.
Same thing if they smoke... it's their problem in the end.

Bear in mind that a lot of shared information on the net is not necessarily copyrighted work.

Ask the Steam users around here, some of the games are 9GB, how are they supposed to download that after paying if their quota is 1.5 gb? How many days are they supposed to leave their connection on to be able to download ?

Stop overgeneralizing bro, not all of us are pirates, not all of us are heavy users.

We want good connections without the need to login every now and then to check how much bandwidth we used.

And Believe me if this happens the Lebanese brains will provide you with Idfa3lisadi2ak.com and screw paypal.

No man, you got me wrong on the cigarette point, this is an old post of mine that will explain what I mean:

As MegaCool said, piracy should NOT be an obstacle or an excuse to the government, Ogero or ISPs to limit the service, give us a shitty connection or steal us!

But at some point we should change the WAY we deal with copyrighted materials...I don't you if u r getting my point, please read again:
XhacK wroteLet me explain my idea, if you want to play a game, watch a movie or use a software...what is the first thing you are going to do? ....download a cracked copy OR go buy a cracked copy from a local shop!
You will NOT even think of buying it! I can assure you. and this is the problem I guess.

Actually I was totally against buying legal software because they're over-priced, but at that time when you posted that post, it kinda changed my mind cuz it made alot of sense. I still download/buy pirated stuff simply because I cannot afford buying legal stuff yet. And actually I've just downloaded around 600MB of video tutorials about CakePHP. None the less, when you said rather than using M$'s extremely expensive products you can simply use OpenOffice or any other open-source software (Linux is just amazing xD). But then again, we're back to the same point: We NEED a decent internet connection that is not too damn expensive and which is not limiting us to 3-4 GB of download quota, otherwise we won't be able to download the open-source software in the first place.
Kassem wroteI still download/buy pirated stuff simply because I cannot afford buying legal stuff yet.
would you steel a car simply because you can't afford it?

Only if it was a Lambo :P

Nah... I wouldn't. Good point there.
it all boils to this:
internet speed and quota is way overpriced.

same as many things in Lebanon, cell rates, internet rates...

bottom line, piracy or not, we need more Quota(+speed) if we'r gonna develop(if not for personal, for businesses)

Would they leave your car if you left it open on the street?
You can't claim what you can't protect, and if you can get something for much less... Let it be. Having this mindset will give you a lot more calmness when understanding how the world runs.

i don't leave it open on the streets. some people (crackers) come and break my glass, so you (warez user) can get inside and steel it.

wow what`s wrong with pirated software? i think it`s the best thing that happened on the internet! i still don`t understand why some of you people insist on feeding capitalism and our big enemy! let them rot and sink; i think everyone should use pirated software and chinese stuff (it`s just as good as the original and for cheaper so why not?) down down with the imperialist pigs!!!don`t be close minded and stop the hipocrisy.. the only way to beat the system is to let it starve!; people should fight for whats best for them not for company`s pockets! ps buying original copies won`t get u a good internet in lebanon

It's a very sad truth, why are you so surprised?
If they want me to pay for the software, they're going to have to make me. Protection, security, encryption...
You may judge as much as you want, but the guy right next to me may have an edge over me just because they use pirated software. That's just for starters.
Ethics won't really do you any good.

It may be wrong, but it's the same as picking up 2000LL off the ground. There's no real consequence.
I don't smoke but the first time i tried it i was 9 years old never did it again, and i dont have any other useless crappy expenses.

Not correct. PS3 piracy not available.
And they have sales on PS3 in Virgin.
But sales of Xbox - much worse. U know why...
And first fight - stop _USING_ non-free software and try to collaborate in opensource development.
