Maybe I should also ask for it, but do we need it? I mean how can that help? Are you willing to setup a new dsl modem?
that because i have 3adsl modems.lol idm replaced my 2broken modems which got damaged due to the lightnings."so 3ande tnen spaiirrr" :P
Btw the D-link wireless dsl router they provide has a really low coverage. Signal is always weak if you are 2 rooms away.
I have d-link dir-300..not bad;just fine.
Did you try to change the channel?
Yeah same thing, it is just that this thing has a low coverage. The good thing is that It does not disconnect often nor drop packets.

Just a quick question, how did the lightnings hit your dsl modem ? do you have an over the air telephone cable?
even if you ask they do not give it to you . so they can stay in control over your modem/router and make sure if something happened to it you are going to buy one from them
I don't think so.. just take your modem and go to 'mina al hosen' and they will set it up.. they like to torture us!
do you have an over the air telephone cable?
No. It hit the electrical grid..:mad: i must get a surge protector.
Hehe, for that to happen several times, you are unlucky eh ?

I heard that winter this year is gonna hit us bad. I will buy a surge protector next week. Paranoia :/

lol Many other electrical stuff were blown off ..lucky me :) SIGH

Haha, yes surge protector is a necessary. i need a dozen :)
you know ETK katranji bros has surge protectors for both the internet (cable kat 5 cable ) and the power cable :) i can get you a quotation on those if you want ? but generally they are pretty cheap :D

Great thx
Ok I got some interesting things here. I dumped my ADSL wireless router configurations...

I can see some passwords I have set but as for the PPPoE connection one, I only can see the following :

</ripIfc>
</RouteCfg>
<pppsrv_0_0_35>
<ppp_conId1 userName="L4****2@ogeronet-1024.com" password="WVF********************Wm95UGw=" serviceName="" idleTimeout="0" ipExt="disable" auth="auto" useStaticIpAddr="0" localIpAddr="255.255.255.255" manual="automatic" Debug="disable" pppAuthErrorRetry="disable" pppToBridge="enable" pppMTU="1492" />
</pppsrv_0_0_35>
<wan_0_0_35>

The password seems to be encrypted. Any clue ?
yes it seems encrypted :) what is your router brand and model ?
Its a D-link 2640U, the Ogero one. It might take ages to decrypt it. It was supposed to show as Hexa code. weird.
One additional thing :

<sysUserName value="admin"/>
<tr69c state="enable" upgradesManaged="0" upgradeAvailable="0" informEnbl="1" informTime="0" informInterval="30" noneConnReqAuth="0" debugEnbl="0" acsURL="http://blink.tr069.ogeronet.com" connReqPwd="admin" kickURL="" provisioningCode="12345"/>
<sysPassword value="bn******MDk="/>

That would depend on the encryption algorithm.
perhaps all of this is a password ? :P IDK it may be computer generated

Exactly, there is an option to enable encryption. I think Ogero guys know how to screw us.

Nahh, they know what they are doing. Actually I hope so..
you know they take for granted that all users are computer/network ignorant , so when you speak to the operator the operator also is computer ignorant , the operator just tells the admins and pros about the username and they check . you know they can program the router without even coming to ur house thru telnet . i guess if you know whom to speak to you will get the pass :)
I think maybe that users can exchange their accounts if they get the admin password. You cannot trust Lebanese :rolleyes:
no i think not they can still link the user-name with the telephone number don't you think ;)

Well as long as you are not getting a private realIP I believe they are not using your phone number. But I am not sure anyway. As I said earlier, I did not work for an ISP before so it can be they also refer to the modem Mac. Who knows.
yup we can not be certain of anything regarding this issue after all . isnt there anybody working with ogero on lebgeeks ? . we desperately need one :P
