I suggest you go to your nearest "central" and apply there, much better response than online DSL application.
that wont do you any good.
i dont think u can have 2 DSL on the same line. so you will have to ask them to transfer you to Ogero.
+ online isn't worth it. go to your local central and ask.
ok, thank you both for you feedback.:)
belal wroteI already have adsl with IDM and i want to transfer to ogero without any problems..
what should i do?
my idm subscription ends in a month.. i am thinking of applying ONLINE to ogero this week (to prevent staying 3 weeks without internet waiting the installation process)..
I am with IDM too and once I was thinking about switching to sodetel, I called sodetel they said that I need a paper from IDM called in arabic (Bara2it zemma) what means in english a paper wrote in it that you have nothing to do with IDM anymore so you can switch to another ISP.

bas w ess sarit el 3amaliye tawile...

Edited: I just called ogero and they substantiate it.thanks again.
I am too lazy to go get a 'Bara2it zemma' and wait about 3 weeks till they install my adsl.. So I am going to apply tomorrow on my Second landline...once they install it, i cancel my idm first landline adsl subscription!!:P
typical libaneeze
hahaha
The bitches didn't gave me the password... they gave me the username which is : Lxxxxxx number.
Is there any password?
they told me go to 'mina al hosn' so they configure my modem! don't they know that even a 5years stubborn kid knows how to set-up his modem!!
the man in the central is very a innocent old man. i think he doesn't even know what 'password' means! damn i had to tell him that password = 'kilmet el serr'!
No password for you. It is not allowed.
I have a friend subscribed withWise and they are like that too, they only give you the L number and they refuse to give you the pass, that sucks if you want to change your network security you have to contact them, if you want to add a port forward you have to contact them, and now I see Ogero do the same, that sucks real bad.

that is not true.

There is a limited account on the router

username user

password user

That is for Ogero at least

Make sure you connect via cable and not wifi.
cool, thanks :D

What I said Above is 100 percent true and and saw it myself, my friend subscribed lately with Wise, I went to his home to help him install it because he doesn't know much about computers in general, anyway the issue is when I enter the browser and I type the default gateway address in the URL field i am asked for a username and a pass, We called Wise and the guy answered me that yes you cant modify anything with the router, I asked him I want to change the Wifi pass he said bring the router to our office, I said "And what if I reset the router with the reset button from behind and reset your pass ?" he said then you cant reconfigure it because you have the L number and you don't have the password .......
So yes i am sure of it Wise gives only the L number without the pass and they password protect the router too.

PS: he was connected via cable not wifi.

I know what you mean but as I said, you might be right, but for Ogero, they told me the same thing. I figured out that an alternative username was available to use. Ogero also gives you the L****** number but not the password. I doubt anyway that the username of the router is L.... it should be admin or blank depends on the router. But i think an attempt to login with user/user wouldnt hurt. gdluck.
AFAIK, Ogero uses mainly Zhone modems. The default there should be admin:admin or root:admin

it should have a telnet port open as well (Zhone firmware is updated via a telnet command + ftp, really dumb) and it operates on a
busybox.
Oh I think then that I misunderstood you or you misunderstood me, I witnessed this thing with Wise but I didnt with Ogero ;)
In my opinion that those ISPs who do this things, they do it in case your router is broken they will maybe force you to buy another crappy router from them, in forbidding you from accessing the gateway or not giving the password of L number they just want to control people, so if one day the Router must be replaced you cant buy a decent router from a store.

Unfortunately, the admin/root password is modified.

One thing I have noticed : when I have an Ogero Ip starting with 77.*.*.* the ping reply on google is 120ms when I reboot and get a 90.*.*.* ip, the ping reply goes up to 250ms

the opposite thing when pinging alfa.com.lb sometimes I get a reply of 20ms and sometimes 210ms

traceroute shows that for one the IP starting by 77, packets pass through London link whereas for the 90 the have to go to through a link to USA.

I dont know if that will impact the browsing experience but on speedtest and pingtest, latency is much lower for the 77 ip.

A better explanation maybe is that they do not want to give you the PPPoE username and password so that things gets out of control. I am not defending any ISP but think about it, a lot of people dont know how to access their router and in case they learn how to and they mess with something, the ISP support will fall into a real headache.
Yes, Ogero are doing load-balancing over different backbones links. Nothing new or odd.
Give me your ADSL IP on private, I can try something.
teodorgeorgiev wroteGive me your ADSL IP on private, I can try something.
Ok but don't screw me :)

some test with pingtest :

It is somehow good but not for a freaking 80$ a month.
I am trying to get that password through 'connections'... lets see.
