Piotr hey guys do u know where can i buy a good external hard disk at a good price? ( size does not really matter, bass let it be at least greater than 100 GB )
mir lol me buying too :) :D Samer, negotiate some LebGeeks coupon, we buy under lebgeekers name... and u get something in return :P
samer Mir good idea, I'll see if I can work something out with the PaP guys. Piotr, check this out: WD Passport 320GB 2.5" 5400RPM USB2.0 Portable Slim External Hard Drive For $108.00 It's their weekly special offer.
mir it is not even an idea... it should be something that must be hitting u on the head all the time :P
Piotr ah ok samer... i knew the site bass never noticed the hot deal part. Thanks Anyway, i went through it at least twice and still i did not find any location for their stores :| does anybody know where can i find them?
samer does anybody know where can i find them? You can't. They do not have a showcase. You order by email and someone delivers the product to you.
beezer Do they even make hard drives that are smaller than 100GB's anymore? You know what pisses me off. If you want 300GB's...you have to buy 320GB. Because if you buy 300GB you'll get 290GB of actual space. I hate that bullshit.

mir I got a Seagate 320 GB :D Very Nice :D i donno about the others externals... but i am loving it :) :D  ... like really happy  doing backup and getting ready for some nice changes and so looking forward for some vmware setups :D
tigerheart-hackers Word of advice guys, and Mir, and this is really based on personal experience, don't go hasty with your external. Here's the thing. Seagate rocks, and unless it's refurbished, and trust me, there are tons of those in Lebanon nowadays, it would never give you a hard time. WD on the other hand, has a tendency to lose data for no apparent reason. You'll have to recover them using the integrated recovery software, which still bugs. Maxtor, SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW... These are the top 3 brandnames in Lebanon. Here's the thing. Original merchandise, imported legally from the brandname companies, are still really expensive. Why? Because this is Lebanon. Resellers don't have self-respect, and importers cheat. A Seagate external that you see in Waseet and costs 117$ +VAT is unbelievable. Yes PC parts and peripherals are getting cheaper by the day everywhere else in the world, but in Lebanon, they have to go through 3 departments before they reach the marketplace. Unless they're smuggled goods, they won't be that cheap legally. We run into issues with our clients when it comes to prices. Eventually, it's up to them. But we say, there's the market quality, and there's pure original quality. Your choice. But believe us, you will see one heck of a performance difference.
rolf I bought a LaCie external 500 gb (1/2 tera :D) at compuworld a while ago. Paid a little over 100 us dollars. I get a special price, but if you can discuss... haggle a bit, you can get a good price too...
