nuclearcat wroteThats not a VISP. I can assure you, that direct are temporary limited for all users. I will work on that at weekend or at monday to remove this restriction when bandwidth are available (at deep night usually).
You can keep the restriction. As I said, I can live with 256k even at http. I just need stability and working ports. It's not even 4PM yet and svn isn't working anymore.
BTW nuclearcat, he did say on facebook group "we just got 50k users at 20 dollars each and blamed the situation on them". I trust you more but this is what aggravates people about him.
Also I think the FUP Quota should be 50 to 60% of what it is now.

Wow, I didn't intend for my post to create such a nuclear explosion. I usually post to make some pressure and feedback. To clarify, I have been a VISP customer for 3 years, and I stick with them because I know the other ISPs aren't better because they all take their bandwidth from the same source, but they are the most ethical and that is not negotiable. Chill Everyone!!!

Joe3dr - about upgrades you are providing incorrect info. Other ISP's didn't got upgrades, and even some are still running satellite internet.
Regarding quick solution, to give advices you should be competent in this area of business. I expect you have solid background for running ISP business on top management position?
cullinan86, nothing against you in my rants, and i am having same issues as you, and i don't have "privileged internet" neither. Actually from yesterday all staff accounts are in restricted class, to provide more bandwidth for users.
Joe3dr
I might not have practical managerial skills but I surely have trusted knowledge in management being a loyal reader of peter drucker.

when I try to open anything http://
I am not sure why you eve bother.
Just switch to any 'non-cable' isp and it is always working!
The qos vs price is amazing!
I do have an ogero connection 1mbit which is always 1 mbps never drops a kb always reliable.
And i do have 1mbps from a cable provider same as visp it is unlimited for downloads and thats it, i get around 1mbps
Just 7 hrs per day the rest is fups, restrictions and total bad quality.
I will stop it once ogero, idm, sodetel or any offer more bandwidth as in my opinion visp or any other cable like is doomed to die soon. They cannot handle the bws and throttle most of the time.
So if you dt like it my advice is just switch from now 1mbps is like 20$ of amazing internet!
I can't get a phone line and I don't want to.

It is going to be a long bumpy ride for hussam :)

Being reader of some book, doesn't bring experience in specific technical field or management, especially complicated one.
And most important, most of western management books cannot be applied at Middle East business practices. Or better to say, can be applied partially, due difference in mentality, first of all.
Joe3dr
Nuclearcat, are you trying to win an argument here? I am just trying to find the truth that many, for some reason, are afraid to
reveal it. We can go on and on with this but the internet speed will remain 10 kb/s at peak time and we will still find customers not satisfied with the promised service.
nuclearcat
Joe3dr, i want to say, that you are incompetent, to give any advices in ISP business. Because even if person read all possible books for pilots, i will not become a good pilot without proper training and exams, and most important experience.
Joe3dr
Incompetency is the attribute of VISP managers. You cant describe me as incompetent in ISP business because It is simply not my expertise. If you want to debate about this we can go forever.
hussam
ftp is working again so is svn and git but at 128k
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep it this way.

I have usually nagged about VISP connection issue .. But now everything is back to normal and better than ever thanks nuclearcat :) I'm enjoying the really taste of Internet finally ... Sometimes outages occur and sometimes the connection is really slow but most of the time during the past days it completely outstanding !!

It's 3am , what do you expect ? And how much you are getting payed again ?

I was able to solve my minor issue on PS3. My original account was UAE with restrictive firewall. So I switched to the UK account I rarely use and turns out the firewall there was moderate and was able to play online. Tadaaaa!!!
I think it has something to do with the location of the servers.
vengeance666
Good for you , I tried playing WoW on germany located servers , france , and UK and still same issues ..

just wondering, i have seen visp complains since i joined the forum... and its the same people i think...
just wondering why not ditch them already?
i know nuclearcat has been active and trying to keep the company in good form, but that was not possible...
am not talking about my own experience but of the nagging that the internet is lame over and over and over...
hussam
because they are the only ISP that gives wireless
