you know you can hide behind resellers, make them do all the work and have the customers blame them. customers won't even know the word VISP. they know this person in the neighborhood gives them internet. however, is that ethical? of course not. and the bandwidth was enough last month.
why get 50k more customers?

Technically I have to live with this for who knows until when while just 2 days before I had an awesome latency ?

And for the 1 millionth time , some customers care about facebook only ( which is oddly loading so fast while google takes 10 seconds to load .. the irony ) , and others care about things other than facebook which is why taking all the bandwidth for one something and letting all the other aspects rot in hell unless it is 5am in the morning ( youtube , videocalls , online gaming , downloading , torrents etcccc ) is and with all due respect , a sign of a managment that haven't even got further than pre-school ..

Don't complain , Patrick has 20mbit at his house so chill everything is working as it should. I bet that this 20mbit can solve all these issues :p And even funnier resellers posting their results like they don't have enough bandwidth to laugh in our faces , and even funnier thing the people praising them like they are Gods or whatever , we have been promised things to happen excatly at 10th OF DECEMBER , this is 10th of April , almost summer now and look where we are while every single ISP in this nation has given 4x speeds and almost done with their upgrades .. Sorry for the long post , but I can keep going on until morning ..

my online game is kinda 'local' for IMEWE cable :P

the port 2000 seems to be on good priority too. that's the port used in my game.
anyway, as I said. it's a matter of principle.

Just now all online application won't work , had good latency couple of hours ago and started to rise until we reach this phase now , god knows what's next !

I know it's not the Middle East issue, but an issue nonetheless. When I sign in unto my PS3 to play an online game, I am unable to play online because it says "restrictive firewall". I called my reseller and he told me all ports are open and my Internet test says "Nat type 2". Once though I got a "moderate" firewall status and played a wonderful match online, but that was just once and never happened again, though I did nothing, so I'm pretty sure the issue is not controlled by me. Any advices?Thoughts?Ideas?

Now A real issue. On Facebook, Patrick told me all torrent traffic are locked at 256kbps no matter the account speed. And to my surprise, a bragging VISP customer posts a torrent picture in which the speed is 700kbps. This is unfair. Why can a 4Mbit/s account user get full bandwidth on torrents while us 2 Mbit/s get severely restricted?

I am not sure why you eve bother.
Just switch to any 'non-cable' isp and it is always working!
The qos vs price is amazing!
I do have an ogero connection 1mbit which is always 1 mbps never drops a kb always reliable.
And i do have 1mbps from a cable provider same as visp it is unlimited for downloads and thats it, i get around 1mbps
Just 7 hrs per day the rest is fups, restrictions and total bad quality.
I will stop it once ogero, idm, sodetel or any offer more bandwidth as in my opinion visp or any other cable like is doomed to die soon. They cannot handle the bws and throttle most of the time.
So if you dt like it my advice is just switch from now 1mbps is like 20$ of amazing internet!

My bad on the second issue. It was just a guy doing publicity for his own ISP on VISP's Facebook page.

when would you people realise that these people are just resellers or people FROM VISP that are here to brainwash you ? You just know that any regular human can tell the difference between internet and a garbage dump .. Anyway I already applied to Ogero last week with a bunch of friends here , I think I'll have to bear with Patrick's "20mbit at my house so shut up and don't complain" nonsense for a little while now .

By not providing the service a customer bought, VISP staff are stealing people's money. In a country were law is respected, VISP should have been shutdown by now.

If you skim this whole thread from page one till this page, you will be shocked by the amount of lies they managed to squeeze in
here.

When you are in survival mode, u will do anything to remain alive. How unethical.

Especially stealing, you are insulting me personally, since i am staff of VISP, while i am not receiving my salary even completely, and working abroad out of work time to earn enough for my life, just to relax expenses pressure on the company, in Lebanon, where economical situation very shitty now.
U know why VISP are in such situation? Because there is request for upgrade, but there is no upgrade from upstreams, that belongs to government.
U know why VISP slow? Not because of new users, because of existing users growing demands and relaxed policy on FUP, just to pleasure downloaders, even i am against that.
U know why you will never see normal internet or other service in this country, and any country where you will move and will become significant part of population? Because you know how to keep whining on forums, but you don't fix root of your problems, impotent and outdated politicians that you elect, and your own attitude. And because most of people who complain how it is shitty situation in the country and how bad people drive on road, keep driving uncivilized way on the road by themself, and breaking the law, making situation more shitty.
You betray easily, if someone will give you small sweet. And now all Lebanese people complain about Ogero and writing funny articles in newspapers about Ogero CEO, how he is bad, but at the say voting for them by money "YES, you are good".
Give me your usernames guys, i will give you your $30-$70 personally, that i "stole" from you, and please go away from this ISP ASAP.

Your account will not be renewed for next month, because we cannot provide you appropriate service that can suit your needs.

so bring back 256k users to 256k, 512k users to 512k and 1Mbit users back to 1Mbit
It's as easy as that. We all were happier earlier.

I don't mind 256k if all ports keep working all the time.

Actually for me important not to make pressure on users by decreasing their speeds, but to provide quality for users who required that. Sad truth, that majority (over 95%) are demanding few applications that usually are disrespected as waste of time, but it is essential to fulfill the demands of majority first.

Also why do people with higher account speeds not have the restriction?

Thats not a VISP. I can assure you, that direct are temporary limited for all users. I will work on that at weekend or at monday to remove this restriction when bandwidth are available (at deep night usually).

Nuclearcat, it is not an issue I am only facing. All your customers are complaining
about it. Especially after many other ISPs had their upgrades in place.

If patrick wanna run a business, customer satisfaction should be his only priority.

You are not blamed for this because you have no authority over the decisions VISP takes.

A quick solution would be to adapt a dynamic monthly payment based on the average speed during a
month that way everyone will be satisfied when it comes to monthly fees.
