No idea but evnetually two technicians went up to the roof, worked for half an hour and the local packet loss stopped.

I think VISP should downgrade everyone back to 256k so that the system can handle the load again. They 1Mbit thing was a really back PR stunt.

Maybe it was, Nuclearcat did say that if things didn't get better by october then he would have to revert everyone back to the original package. Maybe they will maintain double speed during peak time and 4x during non-peak time hours.

They're supposedly upgrading in November. I'm not sure how accurate is that - but yeah Internet is quite a mess.

double speed during peak time is already killing me. I don't need more than 256k if it is 256k around the clock.

They should do different packages for different needs, maybe a 256 account, then getting the new packages and some assured bandwidth or I don't know what else they can think about. there is a broad demand for internet, everyone wants it for something different.

you can't have assured bandwidth with a shared connection coming from a virtual ISP (only parent ISPs can do that). That is the reason behind our problems. IF they do get the line from Ogero working, things may be better.

Actually they are building a fiber connection between them and Ogero , that's the cause of the bad fluctuating internet .. and yes the 1mbit before that fiber connection was a damn stunt ! and you know Ogero being a !@#@!# and such .. so supposedly the fiber connection to Ogero will be done before the end of October and there will be amelioration in pings ( CEO of VISP mentioned that on Virtual-ISP group on Facebook ).

yes i know i check twitter page regularly... maybe that lineup isn't finished , or some final steps are underway to fix the problem.. because if you come think of it it's impossible to leave things the way they are now , it's a one way ticket to getting bankrupt..

well not bad news , the most source you can get information from .. just like flip the switch but just VISP..

I called them today at 3PM and asked to speak to rabih khalil. at first he didn't know what I was talking about but I repeated my question about when the upgrade is coming. he said hopefully this week. I still don't trust it will happen.

hopefully. most of the other users (With other ISP's) have also been to told to wait until next month so hopefully its true

It is working. It is hell a lot of work for me still, but it is up right now.
I hope first significant results will be seen in 1-3 days, and still downlinks are old routes and etc, it will take max 1-2 weeks to complete all changes.
