how does it perform playing Netflix? do you see any stutters? motion handling on the sony should be good and i dont mind turning it on. im trying to see direct comparison between the x930 and a1e but i cant seem to find any reviews comparing them directly to each other. i just love how there is no backlight contamination on oleds but it has to be smooth since i am sensitive to fps and stutters.elserge82 wroteForgot to mention that for sure there is a motion handling mechanism but that is not enough. of course a 60 hz movie is way more better.elserge82 wroteThe imperfection of LED tech made it less noticed and more user friendly, djunited wrote
Good to know regarding burn in however i also noticed jitter on the a 1e with a demo of some city at night. Is there no motion handling on oleds? Do they jitter no matter what content youre playing?
New TV Set - Sony x930e 4K HDR
was at abed tahan again today and there was a price drop on the a1e. it would cost me 100$ over x930e + bvd n9200 home theatre
to get the sony a1e. so the proce sifference is negligible. question remains should i go for the oled or stick with the trusted led?

Despite of the TV Brand - Oled inherit technology serious problems are image retentions and burn ins - along with sub 1000 nits of real scene HDR peak brightness.
Despite their real blacks and infinite contrast retention and burns -in risk can happen during the tv life cycle and it can be catastrophic.
A good high end led tv , you can tolorate none native blacks and blooming with VA panels / good local dimmings / high hdr real scene peak brightness / very good blacks and contrast you will frankly statisfied without any risks.
Sony X930e - no regrets at all.
quoted from rtings.com olde vs x930e.
The X930E is a lower-end Sony 4k LED TV. It doesn't have the same picture quality found in an OLED, but it's still one of the best TVs we've reviewed. It is much brighter than the A1E, making it an excellent choice for HDR. The A1E is a better TV overall, but it is significantly more expensive.

thanks alot guys for the input. i have decided to stay with the x930 and 7.1 home theatre for the same price as an oled. although i would have loved the cinematic experience but the risk of spending that much on a tv and have issues with it under no burn in warranty makes my choice that much easier to stick with the led. tech guru, what should i look for when they test my tv before i take it? and what test should i do at home to check if it doesnt have any dead pixels or banding or screen uniformity issues etc... knowing that the tv i reserved is the last one in stock in box.
any info would be appreciated. thanks again guys

Test the vertical bands and screen uniformity can be seen mostly while watching soccer:) on panning

Just purchased the 75" X940e. I called Nassar world; they didn't have it but were kind enough to find me a last piece in stock in UAE.AVOlio wrote75" x940e?!Kareem wroteAnybody knows where I can find the x940E ? I need a 75" Tv and I've heard nothing but good reviews.
If it even exists on Lebanon, prepare to spend 10k$ on it.
My suggestion is get a 4k projector.
price : $5499 USD.

It's a Huge purchase for a TV (imo) but i like the enthusiasm, us tech geeks we can't get enough of spending big amounts of money on the shiniest and biggest tech we can find hehe.
We're awaiting pictures of the TV ! and maybe videos of it playing high quality movies! In fact do an unboxing video lol
On the other hand, you should also see the image of a good quality 4k projector! Maybe see difference in picture of my projector and your TV next to each other.
I won't be installing it until the apartment renovation is over. Gonna take like 6 more months. One may say that I could have waited for new models but the new series isn't promising. The X1 extreme processor is enough and I'm not fan of OLED.AVOlio wroteCongrats Bro!Kareem wroteJust purchased the 75" X940e. Also the 75" size doesn't leave much alternatives.
Some pics of the work so far :

And that's part of the control panel ( 2nd part is the rack - cabinet for NAS/ HDMI Matrix/Audio Amps/UPS/PoE switches/router/Surround processor/NVR etc.. )

Holy moly. Damn.
I wasn't interested in TVs before this... But reading through this thread and checking out the dedication and research you guys put in this... Amazing! I love that there is a geek for each and every tech on this forum! Mabrouk Kareem! And I second AVOlio; make an unboxing video, or at least an installation album! Awesome TV and would really love to check out the images after installation and all!

Good Choice mate for a 75" TV , it is the same as the x930e performance with Full Array Local Dimming. Still the X930e rolling excellent this year , beating many 2018 models especially in real hdr peak brightness of 1400nits -HDR 10 requires at least 1000 nits of brightness @100 % window not 10 % and 20 % of the scene of lights here and there. Still the 1000 nits on 100% windows or full scene HDR brightness is not tipped by all 2018 models even the highest end of Samsung Qled - Q9fn. Well done Sony ! :) The X930e / X940e are truely a master piece of engineering.Kareem wroteJust purchased the 75" X940e. how about posting your setting for sdr and hdr content? been reading about how hdr is currently a gimmick in that it really desaturates the colors and that in general sdr is more vibrant. do you change your settings to compensate for the lack of color in hdr or do you leave it as is?

Gaming SDR
He nail some times but usually I set off the "smoothness " option which is like frame insertion / interpolation that increases input lag.
"Cleareance" option is Black Frame insertion -BFI , like the PG348q I have which is ULMB , where the image flickers to reduce motion blur. X930e flickering is very fast and not noticable. The point here on works on 120hz for 120fps nor 60 hz for 60f fps so no benefit for 60 hz gaming in this mode only @ 120hz - 1440p. Quantum is good but he misses some technical details , I usually comment these below his videos, he usually always recommends setting these two options on , but he misses two crucial points I clearified.
Second HDR 10 is screen dependable a lot say HDR colors are washed out , over saturated colors , SDR is better , HDR is a gimmick etc.. Ironically the most are using panels yes they do accept a 10 bit HDR signals but does they meet HDR 10 core requirements , one down ans HDR 10 will be not what HDR is all about:
At least 1000 bits of HDR Real Scene Peak Brightness ( full 100%window not 10 and 20 % light illumintions here and there ) and the 1000 nits must be sustained which the x930e /x940e are excellent in that.
Native 10 bit panel , not 8 bit + frc ( which ironically the 2000 USD recent pg 27uq uses along with the acer x27) ,An 8-bit image means there are two to the power of eight shades for red, green, and blue. This is 256 different values per channel. When combining those channels we can have 256 x 256 x 256 different color combinations, or roughly 16 million. A 10-bit image can display 1,024 shades of color per channel, or billions of color combinations. The 1024 shades in a real 10bit panel help it in displaying HDR 10 Rec 2020 and DCI P3 colors spaces properly without color banding issues and washed out colors in HDR illuminated bright parts or dark parts that help shows details and not crashed colors.
At most 0.05 level of blacks ,obtained by an efficient local dimming + VA led panels are used usually due to their high native contrast
Wide coverage of Rec 2020 and DCI P3 color spaces - 75 %and more for each

guess ill try his setting too. i dont think he uses hdr settings anymore he has recent settings for the x930e he talks about it while playing injustice 2. question if for example there is a scene in a movie with sunrys through a forest. if i am viewing in sdr will the raysbe of higher brightness than the rest of the scene or does this occur only in hdr mode? or maybe not related if its in sdr or hdr since this is the tv that controls the brightness of objects in the scene? what about the motion issues that he describes concerning the 930? he even says the 900ehas better motion even though it has an inferior processor.
another things. itseems there are two sets of panels for the x930e the cheaper uc1 and the more expensive uc2, the former made in china the latter in mexico. at least for the us models but for europe there should be EU2. can you check on the box if you still have it?
search for aone x930e uc2 on youtube to see where to find it in case you dont. thanks

do you use your ps4 pro for streaming netflix and youtube or the tvs apps?
I believe it is all about the upscaling technology. I can't wait for image screen 4k upscaling to be indebbed with AI. It is already happening with Nvidia RTX technology.
When you play on 2160p 60fps very high setting , on the native resolution of the TV , up-scaling doesn't matter. I am more interested to see apple to apple performance of the 2080ti or 2080 vs 1080ti on such resolution , my previous 1080ti Asus strix did a decent job on 2160p , but many AAA titles on 2160p Very High setting with AA fall short on the 60fps mark , especially in tense rendering areas (Lot of things going on the screen).ThunderGladiator wroteI believe it is all about the upscaling technology. When you switch to HDR mode through a HDR movie source outputting a 10 bit HDR signal the TV Brightness on high lights will automatically cross 1000 nits and on shadows local dimming will sure the contrast and black levels are at most 0.05 nits. Slso, wide color gamut coverage will be initiated. The result is a more life-like image compared to SDR. Also in HDR 10 / Dolby Vision source mode, the content metadata plays a role , since the content has HDR metadata that the TV knows which scene highlights needs illumination and the level of illumination and which scene needs a certain level of contrast to be lowered for real blacks. In SDR nothing is happening , brightness is set across all the screen and contrast too with the same level @ a regular color gamut with an 8bit color depth and combinations. 256 values between 0% and 100% luminescence is not nearly enough when expanding the total dynamic range of luminescence – or brightness – that we want to faithfully record, or even deliver in the end to a HDR-capable display.By adding an additional two bits of data to each channel, we quadruple the total number of values per channel to 1024, which means we can now assign levels 0 – 1023. This results in the ability to record a higher overall range of luminescence values, or contrast ratio (dynamic range), and a wider color gamut.
Motion is "eye-sensitive", on a technical side the x930e beats the x900e in motion

Bought my X930e from Tahan and from the Serial Number on the box it is made in Malaysia , UC1 chipset provides 14 million color vs UC2 1 billion color , 8 bit +FRC vs Native 10 Bit.

Malaysia is UC2
