I actually ended up doing the pre-order with CTC because I found someone willing to give me 150$ for the bundle that comes with it. Very happy to pay 700$ 'only' for the Note 7.
Actually I asked myself the very similar question:

I bought a s7 edge 2 months ago, and I was thinking that I suppose i'm easily able to sell it for like 500 to 550 because I have a slickwraps skin for it, tech21 case and small accessories as well.
I was thinking if it's worth it to sell it and pay like 350$ additional to get the note 7! I like Spen and i will get a gear fit 2 which alone is worth like 150$! so i will be paying like 200 additional for all that "useless" bundle and a "useful" privilege card.

I'm lost!
On one hand it's not a big upgrade and no need to lose/pay further money since I actually don't NEED it.
On the other hand, I LIKE it and it would be nice especially when not paying huge amount of money (relatively to what i'm getting).

What do you think?!
I am still very torn apart between getting it and not, on one hand $850 is a large sum of money for a mobile phone and on the other side I really fucking like this phone

on the pre-order page they say you have to provide an ID but there isn't a form to attach an image or something, how do they verify that it's you who pre-ordered online ?
I will be waiting for the S8 , Currently very satisfied with S7 Edge - and comparatively the Note 7 is not a major upgrade (same chip-set , screen resolution, IPS68 , same camera and absurdly lower battery capacity). For S6 Edge owners , yep it is a great upgrade.

Honestly it's very cheesy but I think we only live once and if you want something just go out and get it. Yeah it's not a big upgrade but the software features of the S Pen are really worth it in my opinion. Not to mention that the palm rejection on the edge screen is much better on the Note 7 (that is my chief problem with the S7 edge)

true, its barely an upgrade, and everyone with an s7 will have to wait for s8 to see if its worth the upgrade, who knows the s8 might have even a lower battery capacity.....if I had an s7, I would wait for s9 or s10.
Pressed the button and pre-ordered it, now the waiting game

Really? They only had the single SIM version when I did it. I would really prefer the dual SIM. I will try to call Monday to see if I can switch
No matter how good the battery is, it's always worrying when you cannot remove it.

Well of course even with fast charging nothing is as fast as swapping the battery to get from 0 to 100% in a second. But if you want a premium build it's difficult to have a removable battery. I've gotten used to this

That's true. I think I am part of the minority of customers that doesn't care if the phone feels premium or not. My main issue with the removable battery is not that I can swap batteries to go from 0 to 100 but that I can change old, dying batteries without paying for service. When the battery is non-removable, the phone is obsolescent when Samsung decides to stop making its battery. If it were removable, you would find many aftermarket batteries that can keep your phone going for many years.
Honestly, the only upside of non removable battery I see is that, for example muggers/ thieves /snatchers cannot turn off your phone by removing the battery.
You can simply put a passcode/print or whatever, and there are a lot of apps out there that prevent the user to use the power button to shut down / restart the phone when it's locked.

Actually they don't need to turn it off, put it in a small case that block signals or wrap with a thick aluminum layer. Retrieving after getting it stolen is very hard to do remotely that's why the police have to get involved to track the thieves and bust them.

I think this depends how long you plan to keep your devices. Batteries can be swapped out when they go bad even if it's sealed. FWIW I've seen aftermarket batteries for older iPhones as well, not sure about Android.

You can force turn off any phone by holding the power button for like 5 seconds, it will turn off immediately so if it hangs you can restart it.

Same with me. She said they will call me to tell me if I can do the switch. She said it will be okay as long as they have an available dual-SIM one in Black Onyx. I hate the fact that the SIM 2 slot takes the microSD slot when used, but now that we have 64GB internal storage it shouldn't be a big problem. I also don't like the "Duos" logo on the back of the phone but I will install a skin anyway.

I never used a micro sd before with any phone, my main reason for not getting the dual sim was the DUOS logo! I don't know why the phone feels cheap with that logo lol
