What do you guys think of the new Note 7 ? I gotta say I'm not a fan of samsung phones but I am pretty impressed with this phone and maybe will make the switch from iOS for this.

Here is the pre-order link https://www.samsungctc.com/offer/default/index/?src=FB-Post

The Phone is for $850 and you get $550 worth of items and subscriptions with the pre-order

1 Black Gear Fit 2
1 Year beIN Sports subscription
6 Months Shahid subscription
6 Months Starzplay subscription
1 Year CTC Warranty
1 Privilege Card
I think it's a great phone to be honest. Just make sure you want the extra 550$ worth of stuff and they are not something you will throw away. Otherwise wait a few weeks for the price to go down.
Only go for this offer if you want the bundle. I find it to be pretty useless personally. For the Note 7 itself, I was a bit disappointed that it has the same chipset and RAM as S7 edge. Even the display is almost identical, and the Note 7 actually has a smaller battery. The Note 7 does look a lot better though (more boxy than rounded) and the new S Pen features are really awesome. The bottom line in my opinion, if you don't care about the S Pen, wait a month and buy the S7 edge for an amazing price. If budget is no issue, buy the Note 7.
Well regarding the bundle I don't find it very amusing I can ditch it but how much drop in price can I expect for the note 7 in a month for example? note that world wide the prices are the same as here and in some countries it's even more expensive than $850

I love the S pen features and I never owned a note or even a samsung phone before, and I think this phone is the real deal
I think you can get it for 700-750 about a month after it's release
idk why samsung is pricing their phones that high.
They should differentiate themselves from apple with that "expensive=premium" mentality

Believe it or not, high prices sometimes increase demand when they establish a prestige/luxury culture. Samsung has established itself as Apple's main competitor so it shouldn't lower prices too much else it will become similar to other brands and it will lose its status.

The thing is, Apple products don't have fluctuating prices. Yes the prices are high but they're ALWAYS high. With Samsung, it drops really fast and resale value is really affected by that.

In addition to both above valid comments, I would like to highlight the fact that the note 7 probably cost like double of what an iphone 6s+ cost to make/build!
It has premiuim build and materials, glass and hard to master curves, it has a wacom digitizer and a Spen, a 5.7" QHD screen, it has a waterproof body, it has lots of sensors and bells and whistles, it has much higher specs/components, etc...

So in my opinion, even if resale value is much lower on samsung side, I would feel happy to pay 750$ for a phone like the note 7 while feeling super stupid to pay that amount for an ip6s+!
I'm just getting way more for my money, and in other words, getting robbed way less.

If everything was simply about specs, the Note 7 would be faster than the iPhone 6s Plus and it probably isn't (just like the S7 edge isn't). Also, the way devices are priced isn't only about the cost of materials used, there's r&d, marketing, and a lot of other things to consider.

Thank you for further validating my point!

(and that was around 2013/2014; it's definitely higher now)

Samsung spends the most on R&D between all tech companies;
They spend the most on marketing between all tech companies;
They make arguably one of the best hardware and specs (so highest cost of the device);
They give arguably the wider array of software features, bells and whistles;
YET their devices are cheaper than Apple's devices!

So no thank you, I'll stick to anything except Apple!
Apple has the highest profit margins to incredible margins and they are proud about it! It's like saying we can screw people the most!
amhaz got the note 7 for 1300$ lol

iphone 6 and galaxy s5 , I am an android and iOS developer so I am not a fanboy for either systems I work on both devices all the time
Is it really worth the upgrade from s5/ iphone 6.......
Marduk wroteIs it really worth the upgrade from s5/ iphone 6.......
well the iphone 6 doesn't count because I wanna switch to android but can't sell it because I need it for dev purposes.
and the s5 is outdated by now, plus the note 7 is an exceptional phone right now and can serve for multi years in the future

They are both over two years old. That is prehistoric in the technology world.
I actually ended up doing the pre-order with CTC because I found someone willing to give me 150$ for the bundle that comes with it. Very happy to pay 700$ 'only' for the Note 7.

Actually I asked myself the very similar question:

I bought a s7 edge 2 months ago, and I was thinking that I suppose i'm easily able to sell it for like 500 to 550 because I have a slickwraps skin for it, tech21 case and small accessories as well.
I was thinking if it's worth it to sell it and pay like 350$ additional to get the note 7! I like Spen and i will get a gear fit 2 which alone is worth like 150$! so i will be paying like 200 additional for all that "useless" bundle and a "useful" privilege card.

I'm lost!
On one hand it's not a big upgrade and no need to lose/pay further money since I actually don't NEED it.
On the other hand, I LIKE it and it would be nice especially when not paying huge amount of money (relatively to what i'm getting).

What do you think?!
