Salloum wroteI know. Aslan I'm really happy that I can save this 850$ and put it towards something else later on, maybe the iPhone 7 Plus. I'll replace my S7 edge with a OnePlus 3, I've really been wanting one.
I would like to know how that goes coz i'm also very interested in the OP3.
Better wait for next Google Nexus, it will have for sure daydream VR
0.1 percent of devices are affected. They are pulling shipments to make sure they can further minimize on that number. Don't make a big deal out of it.
a month later
i owned galaxy S4 S5 and S6edge. all of them the battery start to consume huge power after they release a newer model. in my opinion the made this to push you to buy the newer model. eventhough for S4 i thought it is the better life ended i got a new Samsung original battery, but nothing changed. i will not buy any other Samsung phone anymore. right now i am looking for a better android phone. have a look on the new google phone if you want to switch to android. i carry both S6edge and iphone 6 plus. the iphone battery is much much better than samsung. note i found a solution for the battery problem. reset and dont update the system. i did it for Galaxy S5 and it is working fine now. btw i did it by mistake since i was giving the phone to my father and it worked fine.
They must rework Note 7 power source and rename it later Note 7+
I wonder who would buy this phone knowing nobody will re-buy it later from him by fear of explosion, renaming it once they are sure they fixed the hardware problem will help sales

I have a Note 2 and I experienced no such thing. In fact, my battery life only got better after each update, and I use WiFi or 3G and maximum brightness all the time.

I'm not sure there is enough electricity in Lebanon to charge decent quantity of Note 7 :)
Supposedly, Samsung has pulled the plug on the phone and are working on the Note 8, due in the spring. ofc, would not be surprised to see the phone sold by 'reputable' Lebanese companies.

Anyhow,I for one am looking forward to one of the new Google Pixel/iPixel phones---they seem to be much more of what one wants in an android phone, without the bloatware. I don't know when they will get here, but I have family in the gulf that can probably bring one back if need be.
RIP Note7. Probably the best allround device of 2016. Hard to feel bad for Samsung, they rushed the release to beat Apple to their 7 release. And look at what happened. Samsung can bounce back from this, but they need to do something big with the Galaxy S8.
As for those Pixel phones? They're priced like iPhones and they're missing key features. No thank you.

The Pixel XL then if you want the size of Note 7.
BTW it remembers me a lot of the Nexus 1 in the back design and of course HTC quality signature, I hope it also has the superb audio DAC from the 10
Bullshit HTC design! I've had enough of their stupid designs! Look at that huge chin/bezel on top and below of the phone! They could either fit front facing speakers or use hardware buttons to get more screen estate!
I really would kill their Head of Design department if I meet him! Mistake after mistake... no wonder the company is dying!
Pixel phones have a premium price tag. The original concept of the Nexus phone was an affordable high-end device from which they shifted last year. If they want to stick to such prices, atleast add more features to match competitors.

Actually HTC had a great Q3 this year, I doubt they'll die anytime soon... I think the 10 looks good!

Early reports say they did good actually because of the Pixel phones! After all they are selling services/phones/manufacturing to Google! The HTC 10 sold very little! Don't get me wrong, I find the HTC 10 the best phone they've made in years and it's even on my radar!

I agree!
With the Note 7 fiasco and the more and more boring IOS (that didn't change for years), HTC is doing a good coming back, people who want a stable, solid and classy phone will get a 10 or a Pixel.
BTW the Pixel design is chosen by Google not HTC, the materials are made by HTC though, another thing I personally don't like in Pixel is the missing SD slot, dunno why Google is still not seeing that people want SD slot, they are blind, specially with the big +3GB per file VR movies and games...
Yes Samsung Lost approximately 17 Billion USD from the Note 7 scandal , the S8 will pop out in retails @ March 2017 - they shrink the release date to compensate. Customer loyalty for big names/brand will not jeopardize the base , any company may encounter mass release problems and lessons to be traced deep from the mass wounds of profit lose. Google Pixel specs are not mind blowing with a full HD Screen and no Micro SD Slot , they included the SnapDragon 821 vs 820 which is considered the same core but an OC variant. I consider year the most fully fledged updated phones , compared to last generation, are the Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge and I Phone 7 / 7 Plus - Innovative Fast Auto focus from Samsung and a Wide Color Gamut Display / new A10 unified chip from Apple.

iOS 10 brings a lot of new features and a great widget pane. It's really great honestly.

Still boring as hell, they always say new features but it's just some apps nothing like custom roms or mods
+ they took away 3.5mm for earphones which is a tremendous shame, nearly as bad as the note 7 burning shame
