first of all, I would like to thank everyone for their contribution.

Secondly this is the updated parts list:

CPU: Skylake 4.00 GHz - i7-6700K 8M/LGA1151
I am going with 4 cores because it's very rare for a game to use more than 4, and if I was gonna go with the 5820K the speed will be reduced to 3.3 ghz and the price will jump, also I need the 4 ghz speed because slightly older games use 2 or single cores, such as Rome total war, which uses only 1 core, and I still play it, so it will run better on a 4ghz speed instead of 3.3

CPU cooler: ThermalTake CL-P002-AL14BL-B Frio Silent 14
I don't plan to overclock my cpu, so I think this cooler is pretty decent

RAM: 2X HyperX 8GB (1 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Desktop Memory Model HX424C15FB/8 for $34.00
Ram is NOT 8 GB, its 2X8=16GB

MOBO: MSI Z170A SLI PLUS (DDR4) USB 3.1 (LGA1151)
OR MSI Z170A KRAIT GAMING (DDR4) USB 3.1 (LGA1151)
this one I am still unsure of...

CASE: PHANTOM 240 - MATTE BLACK
OR: Thermaltake Versa N21 Window Mid-tower Chassis
OR: Thermaltake Versa N23 Mid-Tower Chassis
I narrowed my choice down to 3, thinking of going with the N23

SSD: Kingston HyperX Savage SHSS37A/240G

HDD: 2TB ST2000DM001 7200RPM SATA III 64MB
The HDD will be used just for storing movies, series, documentaries....

LG GH24NSC0-24X DVDRW - Dual Layer SATA Black
already have a PS3 to watch blu-ray movies on.

GPU: 2 of the upcoming GTX 1080 or 1080 ti in SLI

PSU: CS Series™ Modular CS750M — 750 Watt 80 PLUS® Gold Certified PSU
after much discussion I have decided to go with this psu
LOL at "Rome total war run better at 4Ghz" man this game is too old for frequency on current processors to matter
I'll repeat it. If you're going dual-GPU, go AMD or at the very least consider them, as Vega will be better than the GTX 1080 and will come out before the 1080 Ti, and CrossFire scales much better than SLI.

I'll have to wait benchmark results for that, but yeah I won't buy the 1080 until I see what amd is offering
The cpu is ok, if your planing on gaming then go quadcore, cooler ok, ram ok, but dont you want to go 512gb ssd, ssd became alot cheaper than before, and im not sure the 250gb will last you alot, i have a 250gb and have 10gb space left ...., hdd ok, gpu you will have to wait, psu dont getting anything smaller, if anything then consider bigger.
after considering all the parts you want just list the price, and see if you are willing to get a bigger ssd or psu, at the end its your choice.

umm, question: the mobo that I buying (Z170A Krait Gaming) has a motherboard dimension of:

• 12 in. x 9.25 in. (30.5 cm x 23.4 cm)
• ATX Form Factor

the case (versa N23) has motherboard support for:
6.7” x 6.7” (Mini ITX)
9.6” x 9.6” (Micro ATX)
12” x 9.6” (ATX)

there is the difference of 9.6" and 9.25", will it work? or I should look for another case?
It will work. As long as it's ATX it will work in any case that supports ATX boards no matter it's dimensions, it just won't be full-length.

Congratulation Bro - what are your parts supp;ies and what will be your final build specs. You will assemble the parts right.

I am facing an issue with my new rig which has mindfucked me, it randomly freezes.

But here's the catch, it only freezes when I am browsing through my files, folders. Or when I am watching a series in my hdd, or when I am browsing the internet. And it only freezes on 1 game, diablo 2.

Yesterday I played Heroes of might and magic 6 on highest settings for 6 hours straight and it didn't crash, I exited the game and was watching an episode of family guy and it froze.

Also when I am playing mineraft or CS:global offensive on highest settings, it never freezes.

When it freezes, you can't move the mouse, keyboard, nothing. The reset button doesn't even work, the only way is to press the power button for 5 seconds until it shuts off.

I have tried stress testing the cpu, internal gpu, hdd's, ram while monitoring temperatures and nothing. Everything works perfectly, I stress tested the RAM overnight for 4-5-6 hours? with memtest86 and not a single error. I stress tested the cpu and hdd's with performance mark and again the results were good, I also used crystaldisk to check the health of my ssd+hdd and again it says healthy.

As for temps, ssd+hdd temps are in the 30-36 C region. The cpu has a temp of 23C on idle and 45C under 100% stress tests.

I have no idea what the problem is, because the freezes mostly happen when the pc is idle or doing simple tasks, and never freezes under heavy load.

also I am running windows 10 64 bit.

Thanks in advance.

Update: Since I wasn't able to find any hardware issues I just did a format and installed windows 7 64 bit instead, maybe the issue was from a bad windows 10 installation...
Its more likely to be a driver issue

Are all the movies you are watching, the files you are browsing and diablo on the same ssd?

Random crashes for no apparent reason are usually because of a bad psu. But this doesnt seem to be the case here

No, the OS installed on the SSD, diablo 2 is installed on the 2tb hdd, and the series I am watching are on an external drive...

That's 3 different hdd's that crashed the same way :P

Also, yes I thought about the psu being faulty but 1 thing doesn't add up, which is when I play games, it never crashes (except diablo 2)

Update 2: I formatted the pc about 2 hours ago and have been browsing the internet ever since, and there hasn't been a freeze of any sort. I knew it! it must have been the O.S for some reason, or a bad driver like mmk92 pointed out...
It froze again when I was browsing the internet, I have no idea what to do :/

I suspect a RAM or SSD Issue mate
both are good:
ssd:

RAM:

Any other suggestions???
