Rule number 1 : Never ever buy the first week when a flagship is released
Rule number 2 : Never buy the 2-3 following weeks
Rule number 3 : You don't want to feel cheated? return to rule number 1 and 2 :)

Well price is stabilized around 4th to 5th week of the release, with more or less 5-10$ drop max but the first 3 weeks it can drop about 200$ and yes it's good for all flagships, the first week an iphone is released it can be at 1200$!!

I think the Galaxy S7 (more specifically the edge) has the "edge" in this year with Screen , Camera, and Battery Life. However, no regrets at all to shift to HTC 10 (if you are an Android Oriented User) this year compared to HTC 9. A major step forward in all areas with this years' release. Waiting for Lebanese Market Release , I do not know if it has a 64GB Variant and compare with the price with Galaxy S7 Edeg (Still do not know if a 64GB Variant will be released in Lebanon)

Side Note: Apple signed ~ 23 Billion USD Contract with Samsung to supply it with 100 million OLED Displays. I think 2017 and on will witness Iphone 7s and on with OLED Screens instead of Iphone's Retina Display - What a Shift :) , I always have favored OLED Screen since years ago , with deeper black and richer saturation with recent tweaks of the pixels arrangements making OLED Brightness matches LCD (S5 and On).

How did we get here? When did flashy gimmicks become more important in driving sales than a solid foundation? Why did removable batteries, modules, and questionable 'innovations' like edge screens become a more compelling reason to buy one phone over the other? And when did we stop caring about great execution—great execution in all matters?

HTC 10 Review
These are the type of questions we were faced with not because we were in a particularly contemplative mood, but because the $699 HTC 10 refused to fit into today's smartphone paradigm. In that world, more is necessarily better, and this philosophy underlies manufacturers' strategy. But it doesn't have to, and the 10 is a glowing example of this.

Despite bleeding money, HTC continues to refuse to play that game, and reminds us that it's a company that has its own style, its own way of doing things. Some may be quick to argue that this is proof of inability just as much as anything else, but we disagree. No matter how much pessimism we try to infuse into our thinking, the HTC 10 strikes us as a device built to specification. HTC wanted it to be that way.

What the HTC 10 isn't? It isn't a toy. It's not pretty or flashy. Instead, it's a tool. And it's built like one. A tool to get the job done and then stay out of the way instead of wasting your time with gimmicks. This cut-through-the-nonsense approach is seriously a breath of fresh air, and a departure of the cookie-cutter Android mentality of the day. And as paradoxical as it may come across as, the HTC 10's lack of 'innovative' features is the basis of its allure for us. Sue us, we'd be happier being seen flipping the 10 out at a business meeting than any other Android phone on the market right now.

You are probably talking about the price without Gomobile's warranty. I doubt the under warranty price would drop below 600 anytime soon (maybe not before 6 months from now) and this is HTC's main weakness in Lebanon.
^ They have to drop their prices at the same rate as Amhaz is to stay competitive. Look at CTC, they have been doing that and I'm sure that other dealers will follow suit. Amhaz is destroying the market with his prices.

I have been told a couple of times that CTC is doing like Amhaz meaning not paying VAT and customs, that explains why they can drop the prices anytime, The M9 went under 600$ with Gomobile after 2 months though.
Personally if the difference is minimal like 40$ I take it with Gomobile warranty like I did with A9, but if the difference is like 100$ and the phone has not known faults then I go for Stars, lately they are giving warranty which is better than nothing.

A month ago, I asked for the price of the Nexus 5x at LG. It was 515. Amhaz was selling it for 315 :D

Also, I asked for the price of the M9plus at gomobile. It was also 515. So after almost 1 year of its release, the M9plus which is based on the cheap mediatek chipset was still priced at 515. You can imagine now how the HTC 10 will be priced

Ipads with warranties are being sold at 100-150$ more than Amhaz.

I really dont know how official dealers think!!!

Careful though, usually the 'warranty' Amhaz offers is a software only warranty which is basically nothing. Make sure to ask before.

CTC are selling phones like hot cake. Thats why they can reduce their prices without losing much

engadget review

http://www.engadget.com/2016/04/14/htc-10-review/

Pros
Exceptional build quality
A more subtle approach to software than on previous HTC phones
Top-tier performance
First Android phone that supports Airplay streaming out of the box
Great audio through headphones

Cons
Merely average battery life
Camera performance falls short of some rivals
Sound is considerably less impressive when you listen through speakers
Hi-res earbuds aren't included with US models
Why are reviews so contradictory regarding camera quality and battery life? Is that due to the very high expectations they had following HTC's advertizing campaigns?
I think the battery will be average as it's 'only' 3000 mAh. But the camera seems good. Apparently in low light it could be better though hence the mixed reviews. Battery life will also vary due to networks, signal strength, usage etc. within the next weeks everything should be clear. And in any case i dont recommend buying the phone before that time due to the high price

Which other phone beside the s7 edge has more than 3000 mAh?

How come some reviews say battery is great while others say it is barely average? There.is a huge difference between great and barely average!!!
Simply because battery life is a very subjective matter...

While 4hrs of SOT using some multimedia and whatsapp apps, over 16hrs on wifi, may seem good to you...it's actually pretty bad to me!
So yes it's subjective and comes down to each person's expectations, usage, experience, previous devices...
For example, me coming from a zuk z1 which actually made 6hrs of SOT on LTE over like 18 hrs of usage, including some heavy apps.... I am rarely impressed by any other flagship in the market... To me they all have crappy battery life.

From what I've seen, it has a very average battery life! Take it as a s6 battery life + 15 % approximately! (I chose the s6 coz it's available and people can quatify that a bit better).
Talking about SOTs in general is very misleading! You can get 2 hrs of asphalt 8.... Or 6hrs of google +... It means nothing...

Well not many do there's the Nexus 6P and Xperia Z5 I guess, but 2015 flagships are no point of reference because most of not all Android flagships of 2015 had horrible battery life.
the battery should've been bigger specially of it's thickness but keep in mind it has smaller screen than phablets so battery usage will be lower,no one will know for real how it's the battery life until real users review starts to comes out.But still htc made many mistakes with the device, I know htc do thinks in her own way but they simply aren't offering anything special + the device isn't the best in many aspect(battery, camera) and they wonder why people are moving away from htc. With all the advertisement htc made we were waiting for a device that gonna rule this year and next year cellphones only to turn out to be a non-special flagship device and it's only power is in audio through headphones! And they wonder why their sales are going down every year.

This is based on what?
Some reviews elected the 10 best phone of the year, some not.
Phones choice is very subjective, some testers found the camera wow other best second behind S7, other found the N6P better.
Also it depends what you are looking for, if it's the best ever sound quality phone, very nice camera (even if 2nd best for some), superb UI, very nice screen and of course classy design you take the 10, if you want the best screen of 2016, very nice camera and waterproof then take the S7.
Is the S7 offering something special, or the N6P? nop!
Yeah none phone will make you cakes or iron your shirts
This year is the return of HTC on the scene with a vengeance, it's not me saying it but 4 reviews over 5, now if you hate HTC go buy an iphone or galaxy, dunno if they can teleport as you search something special in a phone

Even though I agree with what you posted the 10 is still a really fantastic phone apparently. It's true that there is not much that is special or that stands out but all around, this is a great designed phone with near-stock Android, good camera, great audio and average to good battery life. Yes the S7 edge is better but looks worse (just my opinion) and runs Touchwiz. I think I would choose the 10 over the S7 edge for my needs.

Srsly you're the most biased person i've knew. FYI i hate samsung the most(and it's probably the only brand i hate) and htc is the only android brand that i admire but that doesn't mean i should be narrowed minded and deny that it isn't the best smartphone out there, not even the best android. And even if you want i'm willing to give numbers of many die hards htc fans who didn't like the htc 10 and aren't willing to upgrade from their m7 and m8. Also I can give you more than dozen reviews that preferred the s7 and even all the sites that you've mentioned and praised the 10 in another review that say they prefer the s7 over the htc 10, and alot of reviews have mentioned that it isn't the best audio speakers only the best audio through headphones . And if you want to compare the 2 phones the s7 have the better screen, better battery, better performance plus waterproof and wireless charging(i know this 2 features we can live without them but we won't be sad if our devices have them specially the waterproof). On the other hand the htc only have the better audio and ui(though you can flash a custom ui so i don't think it's much a dealer) and for the design even the s7 have glass back but from the s6 samsung have worked on the design to make it feel premium and they succeeded . So why should i pay more for the htc 10 than the s7 even if the s7 is better in many aspects, only for audio? Anw for the camera and audio as i said before we should wait for real users reviews because this reviews are just shit but the thing is that the s7 users reviews are out now and every one is astonished by the camera. In the end if you're willing to pay more on a cell that has nothing special but audio through headphones i hope that you will love it when you get it and teleport you to another world by it's audio.
