The delivery guy came with an S6 to my home today, I didn't buy it because it had a pink tint on white background on the lower part of the screen (thanks XDA for letting me know about this defect) I was so wanting to have it right now but I wouldn't forgive myself for taking a defective screen a whole year. It has a 1 year warranty at a bizarre company (Windy or Mindy something like that) and he said I can ask them directly, but as I know Lebanese warranty dudes and how much they will try to convince me it's not a defect, I decided to not take this unit, he will bring me another one tomorrow
LifeEngineer
You did the right choice! Waiting a bit is better than regrets all the time!
I bought also a note 4 with a warranty from a company called "Arabia"! Does anyone know about it?
vegetaleb
He told me he will open and try himself the S6 till he find a good one before bringing it to me :)
He did the same last year after the 1st M8 he brought had a hiss in the speaker, perhaps I am not lucky, let him try his luck instead ;)
Btw the prices could decrease tomorrow as Amhaz still didn't release the weekly price list.
As I predicted with the fall of the Euro the black market phone are European versions this time, the S6 1st language choice was Italian :)
Dunno why but I prefer it over MiddleEast and Asian versions, oh I forgot to check if the charger was the quick charger one (as it is on all genuine S6 boxes) and not swapped by some Lebanese to sell it later at 50$

You shouldn't accept a box that isn't sealed.
vegetaleb
Yep but I trust him as it's the only way to find a non-defect screen, and anyway it has a 1 week or 1 year waranty, I will check the charger, cable, earphones to see if everything is 100% genuine.
About the European region devices, the huge advantage is to get updates sooner
vegetaleb
Damn he still didn't answer me, nor whatsapp nor telephone calls!
I hope he will because tomorrow everything is closed, I can't stand to be without a good smartphone any longer. This screen pink tint defect is a big problem as I won't take the risk to buy an S6 without being sure the screen is good, and many shops selling without warranty won't let me test the phone before paying.
If the delivery guy will not answer till 4pm I will be obliged to find a shop that let me at least try it before buying it even though there is no warranty, do you know any? Cell70 for example?
He finally answered, he's gonna check a newer batch because he ''doesn't trust'' the one of yesterday, I cross my fingers that he actually finds a perfect screen S6
bermudapineapple
I didn't know the pink tint problem was so widespread. I haven't read much about it so I assumed it was happening to a very few number of devices. The chances that you got one would have been extremely low.
By the way, I saw my friends S6 yesterday and it was beautiful. It feels amazing in your hand, it's very fast, camera quality is great, but he told me himself that the battery is horrible. I believe him because he's not a very heavy user himself and he said that it was a horrible battery. So be warned.

Finally got my S6 yesterday, the screen is very good so I took it, the camera is incredible, it's like having a Ultrapixel but with 16mp instead of 4!! In low light it took Beirut's street like no other phones can take in Auto mode, so imagine with the ''Manual Camera'' app I can do (manual shutter). The out of the box software was a little buggy but once the update was installed it was blazing fast and rock solid.
I can't talk about battery right now, but the very first quick round was draining fast, 2nd quick round recharged it to 75% yesterday afternoon, played with it alot as it's my new precious, WIFI,GPS,and a little BT too, the battery is still at 55% now. So I can assume battery is getting better from round to round quickly. Many S6 users said it needs a whole week of charging rounds for the battery to settle down.As for the quick charging...OMG! it passed from 30% to 75% in 20 minutes while it took 3x more with the M8.
Mine is Made in China, the made in Veitnam are having the pink tint problem on screen.

Glad you got it bro :) i don't have this problem at all, thank God. I thought so, the batches coming to Lebanon are made from China. While UAE and others in me are made in Vietnam.

any reason you didn't go for the edge?
vegetaleb
A very big one: 200$ more
Add to that:
-sharp edges
-cut screen in texting
-lower visibility under sunlight (sunlights can go through the screen)
-factory scratches on the edges
-much lower custom roms
My Review is up

Nice review man :)
plus you are a moderator there, congrats.
vegetaleb
Yep! :)
Now I need a case for my S6 so I can stick it on my car's sticky pad (bought at Spoiler Center)
The S6 is out for a good month now in Lebanon but it's hard to find covers, as usual in Lebanon accessories follow 2 months later
LifeEngineer
Nice review man!
Don't get me wrong but I honestly don't think that a review can be done after using a phone for 2 or 3 days!
You need at least 2 weeks to really feel and experience its good side and bad side! Technically 1 month is better and safer!
bermudapineapple
Nice review, and mabrouk on the phone. I agree with LifeEngineer. Maybe in two weeks or a month you can post a final short review on LebGeeks?
Houssam
@vegetaleb very nice review man but dont you think you missed a major aspect ? what about the battery dude, how is it performing against the m8 ? thats one of the main things i look for in a phone when i'm trying to make a purchase decision !
vegetaleb
It's too soon to tell, not before 10 days, some cycles are better than M8 other are on par (M8 + LP), I think some sammy bloatwares are sometimes eating battery so when I will root it and flash a non bloatwares Rom I should get better battery.
I lose only 2% over 7 hours while sleeping
All in all not bad at all but surely not breaking records like Note 4 and Z3.
20 to 100% charging time is pretty quick with only 1 hour, it was twice or more with the M8
haidcar
guys watch out, Samsung shipping some units with their own sensors in house sensors instead of Sony's due to supply constraints.
Sony's Sensor is far more superior especially in low light, and has higher dynamic range.
vegetaleb
Mine is Sony, it has an Italy Warranty seal on the box if it can help choosing a good one
vegetaleb
Call me nut but I am missing HTC (deep) software, so I am thinking of selling my black perfect S6 if anyone interested...
