Yes, the gaming pool thing is free.
You need to call the support and explain him what is going on, and to request the gaming pool,
So I called IDM today and requested to be put on a Gaming Pool, the support person asked for several pings and tracert and I sent the result to the support email, he said that 140ms-160ms is a decent ping! lol, I told him I want 100ms or less because I play shooters, I felt like they are annoyed of such request, the operator said that to have your internet placed on a Gaming Pool (or good IP) you should have a very good compelling reason!!! I have to follow up this issue in the afternoon
i'm glad i'm not with idm then , i'm with ogero and with interleaving turned off I get 60-80ms
anyone noticing throtteling from idm on certain websites at peak hours mainly ?
i noticed that facebook especially videos on facebook don't even load (lowest resolution) at those hours although when i download i get the normal full speed (6mb) so i decided to use a vpn and magically facebook video run normally at hd resolution.
and i'm sure if i call them i'll get the typical answer "daghet 3al central" which i proved wrong since with vpn it works so it's definitely throttling.

Yesterday morning I got a call from IDM that I'm now switched to the Gaming Pool (what so called), so yesterday I was testing if there is any difference, lately I'm playing mainly Rainbow Six Siege, inside the game the game displays the server with the ping, also the ping inside the game also pinging Google, nothing has changed, Google ping stayed at around 137ms, in R6 menu server ping is 110ms, and in game it varies between 130ms to 160ms depending on the game, so yeah! Will report back to them today that nothing has changed ping wise.

Note: I noticed a very slight increase in the connection stability, specially watching Streams of football games (I could be wrong and it was from the streaming server, but that's the only difference I noticed)

Note2: I got a new Cat7 shielded network cable that I'll bring an electrician to install as a connection between the Phone lines box to my apartment at 3rd floor, it will replace a normal phone line cable that is installed in a tube with electricity cables and the building tubes are close to each other (So noise from my power usage and neighbor power usage)
i can confirm gaming pool doesn't add that much
on another note nice to see a lebanese interested inj rainbow six what's your rank?

Hello
I am connected to Adlieh's CO.
Subscribed to IDM's 4M/50GB plan.
IDM did some maintenance work (according to an SMS) a week ago in the area.
I noticed today that my speed improved to 550KB/s vs 430KB/s in general.
I entered the router menu to find this:
FluxBB bbcode test

Is fiber on the way? Router is syncing at 15mbps.
What are your thoughts?
ITU-T G.992.5
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 893 / 7.198

that's mine still normal was it like that before for you ?
Mine is now 767 / 12.997 instead of 8192?!

I am subscribed to the 8 Mbps in Mazraa

It was ~700K/4096K.
Tested again. Speed is 530KB/s at the moment. Gained an additional 100KB/s. I think they're pushing 15 megs through the line but the subscription currently limits speed to 4M (512 KB/s). New plans coming? VDSL?
NB: My line has perfect stats and the house is near CO. That's why it supports very high speeds.

I wouldn't really use the word "only".
You're now getting clear-cut 8 mbps (not an approximate 7.2mbps).
Same goes for me. Getting around 4.17mbps while being subscribed to 4. (used to reach 3.4 megs only)
Something is surely being cooked.

Yeah definitely
However, i should monitor my SN margin which is now (Up/Down) [dB]: 22,7 / 16,8 and reached to 13.1 (according to logs). It was always above 20 before the increase

I think it's normal. Your line is syncing at higher speeds. I hope they unleash these massive speed gains soon in big cities.

My new stats
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 5,7 / 7,5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 22,6 / 11,3

Previous stats
DSL Type: ITU-T G.992.5
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 741 / 4.398
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12,0 / 13,2
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 2,8 / 7,5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 23,5 / 43,2

Definitely lost a lot of down SN margin.

My upstream is now a bit lower
Dont you think it's weird that the upload is speed is under 1 mb on all dsl plans. Wouldn't you think that they have a lot of exess upload speed they can give since they buy E1 and it is 2mb up and down and usually people dont use the up as much? Because sending a video through whatsapp or uploading it to facebook max the up speed and that would make the hole home network lag
5 days later
After couple of weeks of monitoring and trying to switch my connection to the "Gaming Pool", IDM said that they can't give me less than a 140ms ping, how sad and disappointing, I even suggested that they do offer low ping packages as a paid service with no response

I think you can buy some sort of upload package so that might be why.
Not really sure about it though.
no i asked not available the entire country has that problem
Well for me it's been 1 month and a half (since there last maintenance) and my ping is 500 ms average at night and go to 1000 ms and at best it's 200 ms . I call them each week like 2 times and they take tests and it clearly show a lot of packet lost and internet instability, and every couple of times they tell me that they fixed it when they clearly didn't even touch it...The sad thing is that before that i had a 100-120 ms all the time and now I feel blessed went I get 200 ms.
